Absolutely lovely hotel, staff was incredibly nice. Breakfast buffet was excellent. My stay was a quick business visit, but after staying there i intend to go back to the Alingsäs Grand for a personal trip. Wonder historic hotel and charming town!

Overall very recommended
Location of the property is at the very center of the city - probably 2min away walking from the train station. Room very clean, and staff very friendly. Only downside I had with my room is that it feels a bit old and the water coming out from the basin is not hot enough - the water for bath no issues and very hot.

We booked a room at grand hotel and ended up having to walk out of the beautiful grand hotel to walk around the block across the street to another location called "lilla hotel" it felt very low class to have to leave the main hotel to go to another location without being informed during our booking and the staff was not very informative why this happened to us. Still not sure why as when checking out we were not asked by staff how are stay was. On the breakfast we unfortunately missed it. We were told it was until 1030 when in fact it was only until 930. So when waking up at 930 and then having to make the trek to the main hotel. We were to late. Very early for a holiday day it was 31 January. We have friends that live in Alingsås pretty sure next vist we will look at another hotel even though it was super comfortable and clean. We felt a bit unwelcomed and mislead on more then one thing.

Hello, and thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you had an unfortunate experience at our hotel. When taking a look at your reservation I can see that the reason you stayed at the "lilla grand", our annex building, is because it was booked there from the beginning. That information should have been seen when you made the booking. If you were not happy with this we could have moved you to a different room-category in our main building, if we had rooms left of course. Unfortunatley we must have not picked up on your dissatisfaction with the annex building, which we will do better next time. As for breakfast, I am a bit confused because our opening hours on the 31:th of december (which I am assuming you are talking about) was between 7.00-10.30 as you were told from the beginning. Finally we are extremely sorry for the unfortunate events during your stay, and next time we will make sure to give you a very nice room in our main building without any extra charges. Clean, and very good service, the complimentary breakfast was excellent with a variety of foods to choose from, they were flexible with me as tired and weary traveler from the U.S. to check me in early and check out a little late after the 12 noon checkout

A surprise in Sweden
The staff were very friendly and the cocktail bar is excellent! It is the oldest hotel in Sweden, well worth a stay.

Convenient stop off for an early flight in a lovely location. Clean and comfortable. Staff really friendly and very helpful. Unfortunately, it was very noisy outside until gone midnight so we had to close the window and then got too hot.

The stay was fine. It is possible to enjoy the street exposition "Lights in Alingsas". Be aware that it's not possible to schedule a early taxi locally after a certain hour on the previous day.

Great Choice
The room had everything you would need including a small mini-bar and kettle for making cups of tea.  The breakfast choice was pretty good and it is very convenient for the centre of the town.

Nice hotel, excellent room in annex, very clean and good size. Breakfast was very good and they had sparkling wine (non-alcoholic) and strawberries due to midsummer. Our daughter who suffers from peanut allergy got her own nutella jar as the the at the buffé stod next to the peanut butter.

Room was very small with a tiny bed. No drawers, and a very small bedside cabinet. Wardrobe was behind a curtain, and overall was a very disappointing room. Breakfast was only average too.

Mycket tillmötesgående och vänlig personal i receptionen. Fina rum. Sköna sängar . Däremot var jag inte nöjd med frukosten då jag bara äter vegetariskt och det fanns inga alternativ vare sig varmt ( prinskorv,köttbullar, bacon) eller kallt ((sill,kallskuret…. m m ) så där finns en hel del att utveckla. Kunde bara äta ca 40% av allt .
