Do the morning - opens at 8.30am and well worth being part of a group with a guide.

You need to book way in advance. We couldn't get tickets to get in to the palace. Booked a guided tour of the outside and that proved disappointing as the guide provided too much information and bordered on boring. Most people left the tour.
