Magnificent Mountain Villa
Pascal and Marie are very attentive and lovely hosts. We were greeted and guided to the house by Eulalia (the sweet and informative house manager). The house is fantastic, the sauna and the pool got a lot of use. The kitchen is well equipped. The house is located in the scenic mountain region of Monchique, a 10 minute walk to town down the garden trail. The the gardens are lush and we had a fantastic time exploring the region. We would highly recommend this beautiful place.

The property is lovely, with gardens to explore and a great pool. Unfortunately we were there during a few weeks of bad weather. I would have gone later in the year to get more sun and warmth. Great hiking trails nearby, but not much to do in the village — so go to relax.

Lovely villa in beautiful gardens with amazing views
Stunning views, beautiful pool (heated and open in February) and well-equipped villa. Relaxing, homey feel to the villa (rather than the showhome feel you often get) and cosy with the fireplace in the living room. The sauna was a nice extra. We did the walk down to and up from the village centre quite a lot and it was fine for us averagely fit adults (aged 23-61), took 15-20mins each way. Location is fantastic - distant view to the sea from the villa, even better views from the top of the mountains (Foia and Picota). We visited Sagres and Praia da Rocha on the coast, and managed a couple of dips in the sea (not cold compared to the UK sea). We loved getting all the fresh citrus fruit from the garden.

A beautiful property
This home was all it was cracked up to be, and more. The home is very spacious with many areas to hang out. The pool was pristine. The kitchen was extremely well appointed. We loved the sunroom. Check in and check out were made easy. We absolutely loved this place.

Short summer stay
My wife and I arranged to stay for two night but with a early check in on the first day. So we had 2.5 glorious days in the property. We spent most of that time in or by the pool and around the bbq but loved it!! Would go back with friends and there is plenty of room

Idyllic private getaway in the mountains
A beautiful property, very well equipped and an absolute tranquil setting with everything you could need within a 5 minute drive. Very private and remote off the tourist track a slice of heaven. Local restaurants are excellent too.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was bigger than expected with several different spaces to enjoy, depending on the time of day, and all with great views. Both Eulalia and Pascal were very welcoming and helpful. We planned to do quite alot of walking during our stay and found plenty of great walks nearby. (For those interested we would recommend viaalgarviana.org). We also like to cook and found plenty of utensils to use in the kitchen. There are also some great restaurants in walking distance, we really enjoyed Luar da Foia (reservation needed).

Nice traditional place on a large estate. Room for 2 couples had we known how spacious it was. Owners are very nice and helpful people and they have engaged a fantastic local property manager in the event that they are out of the country during a rental.

Awesome Accommodations and Gardens
We found the property exactly as advertised and perfect for our family of 7 (grandparents, daughter, her spouse and 3 children ages 3 to 8). The separate accommodations for Grandma and Grandpa worked out nicely allowing a space to occasionally "chill" and a break from the high activity of the young ones. Furnishings were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, and the gardens with fresh fruit trees and all types of flora were a delight for all ages. It was especially convenient to have both a washer and dryer available with our children who go through clothes quickly. The option of using the beautifully enclosed sunroom or the open patio to take in the view on cool nights and warm mornings/afternoons was a big plus. The property is convenient by car to the town of Monchique for shopping and nice restaurants are just a short walk away through the gardens. Lastly, the grandkids welcomed the opportunity to play in the heated pool as a break from touring the Algarve sites. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who enjoys being away from the hub bub of tourism. The owner and property manager couldn't have been more pleasant to work with and so easy to communicate with.

A Unique Experience
Outstanding property, perfect for a restful 15 days which was exactly what we were seeking. The pool and sauna are very private and we enjoyed daily. It’s a week equipped Villa with the added bonus of being within walking distance of two excellent restaurants. The orange and grapefruit trees provided us with an excellent breakfast each morning. The view from the property is remarkable. We’re already planning our next visit. Thank you Pasquale and Eulalia.

Fabulous villa in Monchique
The villa was all we had hoped for. A splendid location slightly away from it all but not too far from local amenities with a wonderful restaurant at the entrance to the villa. The villa it self had a rustic charm set in a huge plot with olive and fruit trees giving total privacy. We loved sitting in the veranda looking at the views across Monchique catching the early morning sun as it rose above the hills. With the large private swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi tv, wifi, well kitted kitchen and games there was always plenty to do and plenty of places just to relax. The villa itself is a short drive or a 20 minute walk to the town of Monchique which has local shops, cafes and a supermarket. Further afield the West coast of the Algarve is within an hours drive which suited us better than the South coast as it was so much quieter with lovely surfing beaches. Pascal is the most friendly and helpful of hosts and he lives in a property just to the front of the villa. A big thanks to Pascal for letting us stay in this wonderful villa and to his house keeper Eulalia for her recommendation of a mechanic in Monchique to repair our car when it needed new wheel bearings.

Lovely villa in a great location
We had a great stay in this lovely villa, despite some unusally poor weather during our week in Portugal. The host and his property manager Eulalia are very nice and easy to deal with, and the villa itself was perfect for our needs, being well located for exploring the west Algarve area. We especially enjoyed the sun room whatever the weather, and the heated pool and views across the valley when clear were fantastic. The lovely local town is a short drive away and there is a great restaurant walkable at the end of the drive with another one a short walk away too. It is another short drive to the top of Foia mountain, which has a nice walk through nature to the top, and it is about 30 mins drive in a southerly or westerly direction to the coast. We particularly recommend visiting Praia da Rocha, Lagos and Sagres. All in all, we can highly recommend this property.

Amazing Monchique Retreat
We had a very enjoyable stay at the lovely villa. The pictures really don't do justice to the size or ambiance of the place. The welcome and villa tour was warm and helpful and Eulalia also gave us insights to the nearby town of Monchique. The villa has everything you will need including a fully functional kitchen, with lots of crockery, pans and utensils. There are plenty of different areas inside and outside to eat, enjoy a drink and chill out while taking in the great views of the surrounding area. The grounds are extensive and full of different flora and fauna including nice fruit trees and the property is adjoined by good local restaurants at the top of the drive and bottom of the garden path that leads directly to the road. We had a lovely time with our friends staying here and we hope to come back soon.

Loved the laidback position of the villa. Great views and relaxing. Outside steps need handrail and description should make it clear that one of the bedrooms has separate access and no internal link to rest of prooerty- maybe an issue for families with younger children.

6 ladies on tour!
We enjoyed a restful stay in this lovely villa which is positioned approximately 10 minutes drive from Monchique town. We enjoyed the sun room which was a boon on the cooler windy evenings when we could eat indoors but still enjoy the views. There are a considerable number of steps to negotiate leading down to the main entrance which may not be safe for anyone with mobility issues as there is no handrail for support and outside lighting is limited. The grounds are terraced and extensive and have clearly been much loved in the past. The pool was a delight as the temperature crept up…... we rigged together a 3rd umbrella to provide much needed shade. There are several restaurants a few minutes drive away and one walkable at the top of the drive, all of which provided good authentic food. It is worth checking which ones are open on a given night. The local supermarket has an excellent fish counter and we thoroughly enjoyed the efficient BBQ at the villa. Many thanks to Eulalia for organising our request for single beds.

I can't wait to go back!
I think this house was plucked from my brain as the ideal mountain home: the fireplace, the kitchen, the view! My American friends and I spent our Thanksgiving weekend here, and all of us were transfixed from the moment we ascended the moment. We savored every moment while simultaneously trying to figure out when we can go back. I usually like to see new places, but some places our so captivating they demand another visit. Monchique and this house specifically is one of those places.

A lovely stay.
A stunning location and great house. Lots of space and areas to relax. The outdoor bedroom was super for the grandparents to get some peace! A great pool but deep with no shallow end. The appliances in the house could do with updating, for example, the toaster didn't workabd the garden furniture was a little rickety. However, this did not detract from a lovely week! Would definitely recommend and would love to return some time.

Perfect place to explore the Algarve
A great place to stay for anyone wanting to visit the Algarve away from the busy sea side towns. Having visited as much as possible West of Faro from this villa we are so glad we chose it as our base. The green mountains that surround make it one of the most picturesque places around. It is within easy walking distance to the town of Monchique and even closer to four restaurants. The villa had a great terrace which was the perfect place to bbq and sit as evening fell, listening to the wildlife. The pool is surrounded by trees and plants with views into the valley and is a relaxing place to spend the days. The villa and grounds are starting to look a little tired in places but this really doesn't take away from all that it offers. Eulália the villa manager could not have been more helpful. From meeting us and running through the villa and grounds to being on hand whenever needed she was incredibly responsive and could not have done more.

A very relaxing stay at a beautiful location
Our party of six had a wonderful one night stay at Quinta. Eulalia the villa’s manager met us at the Intermarche and took us to the property. She was so pleasant and helpful. The house itself is amazing and the solar heated pool was the cherry on top. The kitchen has everything we needed to make supper. The garden and property was extensive and we enjoyed our walk past cork trees, and lemon trees and enjoyed the many beautiful roses and other perennials blooming and flourishing on the property. We would love to return one day!

Beautiful stay in Monchique.
We had the most beautiful and restful stay at Pascals perfectly stocked home. This home is definitely a retreat, quiet and peaceful. The grounds of the home are landscaped in a rustic beauty that I have never experienced. Everything you need to relax and enjoy is provided, from dishes to towels, cushions and blankets. And the sunroom- don’t even get me started on the sunroom, I spent every morning in that space drinking fresh squeezed orange juice and reading. Thanks for making this special spot and sharing it Pascal, it’s perfect. Now to figure out a way to return!

A villa with great views. Everything there you would need for a really comfortable stay; just outside Monchique. An extra bonus of good restaurants within walking distance. A real pleasure to pick oranges and lemons from the garden. Breakfast in the conservatory with the sun coming up over Picota was very special. A lovely warm welcome from the property manager too. Ideal for those who don’t want the hustle and bustle of the Algarve beaches. Property owner was very friendly and determined to make sure we had everything we needed.

Very pleasant holiday in this large and comfortable villa.
We had such a lovely stay in this villa at the end of May. Pascal and Marie were so friendly and welcoming to us all when we arrived, kindly staying up late to show us all around the house. The house is great - very roomy with all necessary amenities. The double bedroom separate to the house was perfect as we had Grandma with us. This enabled her to have a bit of peace whenever she needed a break from the boys! The pool was fantastic and we managed to make a fair bit of use of it despite the weather not being ideal. Our kids spent many hours exploring the garden. The jacuzzi and sauna were a great bonus. We have very happy memories of our stay in Monchique and hope to return again. Thank you Pascal and Marie! x

En absence du propriétaire Eulalia nous a très bien accueilli ensuite nous avons rencontré le propriétaire très sympa et serviable, le seul petit défaut c’est que la piscine chauffée est en supplément, sinon nous avons une vue magnifique et la tranquillité.

Merci de cette gentille appréciation. Cela a été un plaisir de vous rencontrer. Une précision: le chauffage de la piscine est inclus dans le prix et n'est pas payant. Il sert surtout en hiver et en mi-saison Généralement je le ferme en Juillet/Août/Septembre mais parfois (rarement) il peut s'avérer utile de le rebrancher en été. C'est pourquoi Eulalia a chauffé la piscine à votre demande sans supplément en pensant que je vous en faisais cadeau. Je viens de lui donner cette information aujourd'hui. Elle a confondu avec mon autre villa pour laquelle je fais effectivement payer un supplément pour le chauffage. Dans tous les cas ça a été un réel plaisir d'accueillir des hôtes aussi soigneux et respectueux des règles. Merci encore pour votre sympathie ... et à une prochaine fois peut être.

Traumhafte Finca mit wundervollem Blick auf die Berge
Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit in der wirklich traumhaften Finca. Sie bot genügend Platz für die ganze Familie. Besonders viel Spaß hatten wir an dem tollen Pool. Der ist sauber, groß und echt tief. Und die Finca ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Wunderschönes Haus in den Bergen
Wir hatten 10 wunderschöne und erholsame Tage in Monchique. Der Empfang durch Eulália hat super geklappt, sie hat uns alles gezeigt, hatte tolle Tips für uns und auch unsere weiteren Fragen wurden schnell beantwortet. Vielen Dank auch nochmal dafür! Das Haus entspricht den Bildern. Es ist toll, dass man sich im herrlichen Garten für den Eigenbedarf bedienen darf. Zitronen, Rosmarin, Minze, Aloe Vera (hat den ersten Sonnenbrand gelindert), um nur einen Teil der Auswahl zu nennen und wunderschöne Blumen für die Tischdeko. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Der Poolbereich ist herrlich. Nachdem das Wetter die letzten drei Tage bei uns leider verregnet war, haben wir sogar die Sauna und den Whirlpool genutzt und auch der Wintergarten ist ein guter Aufenthaltsbereich, wenn das Wetter mal nicht so schön ist. Die ersten Tage haben wir uns einiges an der Algarve angesehen und es ist eigentlich alles sehenswert und wunderschön. Besonders hervorzuheben sind für uns, Cabo de São Vivente (süd-westliches Ende Europas), die Stadt Silva und die Höhle von Benagil. Die Gegend um Monchique ist auch wunderbar zum Wandern und man kann eigentlich gleich direkt vom Haus aus starten. Fussläufig sind auch ein paar gute Restaurants zu erreichen, mit sehr guter regionaler Küche. Es ist ein herrlicher Flecken Erde und wir kommen gerne wieder…

Idyllische Wohlfühloase
Die Lage und der Ausblick in die Berge der Algarve sind traumhaft. Der Empfang und Abschied waren sehr warmherzig. Die Finka selbst ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und hat sehr schöne Schlaf- und Wohnzimmer, in denen man sich nur wohl fühlen kann. Die Küche verfügt über sämtliche Ausstattungen und lädt zum kochen ein. Darüber hinaus kann man im Pool oder in der Sauna die Seele baumeln lassen. Wir kommen definitiv wieder.

La semaine passée à Monchique chez Pascal fut fabuleuse. La maison est un Havre de paix, la vue est splendide et les environs ressourçants. La côte et ses falaises sont fabuleuses. Es war alles wirklich so schön wie in der Beschreibung. Tolle Aussicht, schöner Pool, wunderbarer Garten, gute Sauna. Wir waren zwei Familien mit vier Kindern zwischen 5 und 10 und hatten genug Platz. Das Wetter war Ende Oktober meistens gut, und wenn nicht ist es am Kamin gemütlich. Man ist in 50 Minuten an tollen Atlantik-Stränden.

La preciosa villa está ubicada en un lugar de ensueño, si lo que se desea es paz y relax este es el alojamiento ideal. Tanto el propietario como la persona que recepciona son muy atentos. Unser Aufenthalt war wirklich absolut wunderschön und wir haben uns super wohl gefühlt. Das Haus ist super ausgestattet und eingerichtet, es fehlt einem an nichts und bietet genug Platz. Auf dem Grundstück gibt es viele Möglichkeiten sich hinzusetzen, zu entspannen und auch sich zurückzuziehen. Der Pool ist groß, sauber und gut in Schuss. Wir hatten viel Spaß und haben viel Zeit in und am Pool verbracht. Insgesamt war wirklich alles ganz toll und die Kommunikation mit Eulalia hat einwandfrei funktioniert. Sie war immer schnell erreichbar, super freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend.
