Our litle country house is located in the lovely hills of the Monchique mountain Foia, besides all the beautifull forest it has also lots of wild life and geckos are a big part of them, they don't need holes in the roof, they enter through the doors if they are open, they go inside the houses to eat flys or mosquitos, at the end they are trying to help, but infortunatly they are a bit too ugly for most humans to like them.
Regarding the parasols, when you arrived there were two, you were only two people, when they get damaged by the wind, you asked and were given another two parasols, so problem solved in less than 24h.
Regarding the sewer smell that you noticed, you were right, but you could have warned the staff, because here in the mountain, it doesn't exist public sewer piping, exist individual septik tanks for each house and when we noticed a smell, it means we need to call the city hall to empty it, it was your case, unfortunatly we only noticed the day you left due to lack of comunication, but now it is solved.
I am sorry about the bed, but being a tipicall portuguese house, it has a tipicall sized bed, in fact portuguese are shorter than dutch people.
In the kitchen, the stove dislevel is solved and there is also hot water, the boiler was set for a lower temperature, but ok now.
The roling stones on the roof at 4am are still a mystery, strangely no one else mentioned that.
Thank you so much for your compliments on the pool and garden, they are indeed wonderfull. The pool was working fine when you left, the water level was a bit lower than normal, but only because we didn't want to add up really cold water from the borehole, so you could swimm in a pleasant water temperature while you there. We were thinking in your confort, sorry if that upset you.
