Old grandeur style. Owners make you feel welcome and home. We really appreciated the dinner. Very tasteful, fresh. Pure good food

A real gem, if you know what you are looking at. A rather large establishment, but only a fraction of the rooms are used. Very nice public areas. The hotel is directly on a highly-used canal, and makes for an outstanding place to watch the continuous boat parade, boats from rowboats to huge cargo barges. Our room looked out at the canal. Things were clean. Beds were good and comfortable. We were advised not to see what is on the menu, but to talk with the chef, and see what he feels like cooking. No disapointments there either. Think 1950. But a very stylish 1950. Not for everyone. We enjoyed it very much.

Very hot room. Facing South with two of the walls basically huge windows with only a little slot window in the corner and a standing fan to provide a mockery to ventilation. I know its summer but it was 24 C outside and over 30 C inside. Otherwise the staff were really nice, though spread thin, its a beautiful place to sit and watch the boats go by in on the beautiful dock and restaurant. Nothing, not even a store, within walking distance. Dog friendly but they did not mention that there's an extra fee (not in the online reservation information and not when I confirmed their policy by phone before reserving the room).
