"We stayed at Hotel Gozensui during our stay at Hokkaido. The staff was very friendly and helpful and onsen was really beautiful and relaxing. We do recommend eating at the hotel as a lot of restaurants around the area close early (we were there March 2026). For breakfast there’s a little udon restaurant that we highly recommend. "

"One of the most beautiful onsens I have ever been to. As soon as you walk in, there is a sense of calm and quiet elegance. The property is beautifully designed to maximize the view of the lake. Our room consisted of three large sections which can be divided with private screens. The service was outstanding too. Each breakfast and dinner, we dinned in a private room. "Friendly helpful staff,but that was the best part: the hotel has a drab exterior with extremely dirty windows within a run down locale opposite a disused/derelict building. The inside was functional but uniformly tired and dated. Our room was clean enough but the bedding was stained, the sheets and towels were old and thin. A simple warm air blowing heater kept us comfortably warm (no aircon but not needed in late October). The water went cold after one shower but was hot again by the morning. I reported weak wifi and was given an in-room wired hub which worked; except that on both evenings the hotel’s internet connection dropped out repeatedly. We made do for a couple of nights but wouldn't consider returning."

"We had a wonderful 3-nights stay at Lamp No Yado Moritsubetsu. We were two couples and took two Japanese-style rooms, both of which were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel very welcome from the start. The setting is beautiful—peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by lush greenery. The hotel also has a beautifully designed and well-kept onsen, perfect for relaxing after a day outdoors. We enjoyed the large community room with relaxing massage chairs and games. Breakfast was delicious, with many different dishes. The location couldn’t be better for hiking and sightseeing in the nearby parks. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy nature, warm hospitality, and a truly relaxing experience. "
