Cleanliness was good—no issues there.
We booked this property because it was advertised as “sleeps 4.” However, we only added myself and my wife during booking (not the kids), assuming the room would be set up accordingly. On arrival, the room only had 2 beds and was clearly prepared for 2 guests. After raising this with reception, they moved us to another room that accommodates 4, but we were required to pay extra per child, which was disappointing given the original listing.
The second room had several maintenance issues: the TV cabinet was damaged, there was visible water damage on the ceiling, and some door handles were broken. The doors wouldn’t close properly, so drafts kept slamming them unless we kept everything shut. The bathroom had a folding door that wouldn’t stay closed, only loosely held by a hook.
There was also a connecting door to the neighbouring room, which made things uncomfortable for the kids—we ended up blocking it with the couch to help them feel at ease.
We didn’t use the restaurant (separate business), but prices seemed high (around $44 for fish and chips).
One thing to keep in mind: if you walk into town, be prepared for a steep uphill walk back to the hotel.
Overall, while the place was clean, the misleading room setup and maintenance issues made the stay less enjoyable.
