"The pool and beach setting were incredible, the room was spacious and had nice amenitys, the beds were comfy and balconys had a stunning view. We upgraded to half board when we arrived, breakfast had lots of options, dinner was always really high quality food, however the amount offered did seem to depend on how many people were in the hotel at the time. "This is quite frankly the nicest, most comfortable, and modern hotel I've ever stayed in here. It was BEAUTIFUL and serene, and spotless. This is a beachfront property and it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The staff: Nirodha (manager) was very friendly, attentive without being intrusive, and the chef turned out delicious meals! Please stay here, I guarantee you will NOT be disappointed."

"I’m very sad to leave this review as the stay at the hotel was actually very nice and the location is spectacular BUT they double charged me and promised to pay me back but I have been trying to get my money back for a month now and they stopped replying my messages!! I’ve contacted Hotels.com also but the customer service has not been helpful. I’ve never had any issues like this and I’m deeply sad about how this hotel stole my money "

"Perfect place for our first location in Sri Lanka. We stayed three nights and loved it. Very quiet and peaceful. The staff was very welcoming and the quality of the Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner was amazing. We can also recommend the Katamaran tour in the lagoon. Free shuttle to the empty beach also worked great. Would always return here."

"This hotel is situated on a beautiful private property, with a lovely garden and private beach with rock pools! Food - especially Sri Lankan food - was fantastic! The staff also made sure they did everything to make our stay a lovely one. But sadly, the place wasn’t up to standard. Rooms, toilets and surrounding areas looked worn down. "We had a great 4 night stay at Ahu Bay. It was nice that Nilanga messaged ahead to discuss arrival time. Having a room right on the beach was a real treat and the private pool was kept spotless by the team. The team couldn’t do more for us during our stay, making adjustments to cocktails to suit ours tastes. We ate at hotel twice and both times really enjoyed the dishes we tried, it’s clear there’s a talented chef in the kitchen! "
