Only stayed for one night as in the area for business purposes. Had an evening meal in the bar area and the food was excellent. Room was clean and nicely decorated with all amenities provided. Staff were professional and courteous. The breakfast was superb in the morning although I did not have much appetite early on I wouldnt have gone hungry if I had been ready for food. Lovely natural yoghurt with fruit compote and honey and although I didnt actually eat the bacon barm at breakfast I took it away and ate if for lunch cold and the bacon was really good quality.

One night stay to dine
Came for one night for the food as we had read good reports and were not disappointed, it was excellent both dinner and breakfast. We had a small dog and found a dog towel, treats, poo bags and a feeding mat provided in the room and also in the bar area. Nice clean room and bathroom. It would have been nice for the heating to have been on before arrival as it was cold, but was nice and warm after our walk from the electric heater and towel rail

The hotel is a 5 star on the charming meter! The staff is friendly and welcoming and the restaurant was superb! Rooms have been updated and are clean and comfortable. There is a walking trail along the river that was beautiful. This was the best inn of our trip and we wish we had stayed here longer.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Just make dinner reservations!
Absolutely loved the place!!! Easy to get to and lots of parking. EV charging stations!! Our room was fantastic!! Staff was beyond helpful!! Definitely make dinner reservations before you go because the place is very popular and the food is terrific!! Breakfast was a real treat!! You get to order off a menu instead of a buffet!! I had eggs and salmon and my son had full Scottish…we thoroughly enjoyed it and didn’t need to eat again till dinner!!!!!! HIGHLY recommend staying here!!!

Sail Away to The Boat Inn
The only minor point to spoil an otherwise perfect 10, was that the drain in the bedroom shower was partially blocked limiting the time you could shower before the tray filled up! Otherwise a very enjoyable experience, friendly and efficient staff, clean rooms, good food and a choice of three real ales in the bar! What more could you want.

Great dog friendly inn
Good sized room close to front door which was ideal as traveling with our pup. Good menu with lots of choice plus all the food we had was tasty and well presented. Great selection of drinks too Very dog friendly so 5* all round Will definitely be staying again

Comfy bed and exceptional food and service
The Boat Inn exceeded our expectations. Our room (9) had a real wow factor and had everything we needed for a good stay. The bed was huge and very comfy. The food was exceptional, particularly the breakfasts. The staff were friendly and helpful. In fact, we liked it so much that having only intended to stay 1 night, we extended our stay for 3 nights. Definitely recommend.

This is a dream of a place to stay, opposite the River Dee. The pub itself is charming, with excellent staff and good food, and the accommodation in the ‘annex’ is first class. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay here in the beautiful town of Aboyne. It was a good base for visiting Royal Deeside and the staff were really lovely. We would stay here again,and recommend it to anyone planning a road trip in this area.

Freshen up after camping off-grid.
After two nights camping without utilities, we needed to freshen up and have a few of lifes luxuries.water/toilets/fresh sheets. We enjoyed our stay at this place, the room, food and bar were just what we needed

Lovely atmosphere in the bar/dining area and decent size seating area for the afternoon/evening sunshine. Rooms decorated tastefully, lovely breakfast-really liked the way orders were taken for courses ( granola/yoghurt/fruit followed by choice of cooked), rather than buffet style.

Little piece of Highland Heaven!
This is a lovely place to stay on the banks of the beautiful River Dee. It was truly a slice of highland heaven! We had a deluxe river view room which had the most stunning view from the window seat! The food was lovely and every member of the staff team we encountered was very kind and helpful. We will definitely be back to stay again. I would recommend this to other travellers.

Liked almost everything. Very good relaxed accommodation in a lovely area. Room (9) great but knowledge of bath in room almost put us off - which would have been pity. Probably our age, but interestingly our adult children didn’t like the idea either. Sofa in that position would have been better. However that’s nitpicking and perhaps not a general opinion.

We stayed in the Annex in an A-frame style building. The roof angles on the 2nd floor made the bathroom awkward. The room was nicely furnished, but there was no room for suitcases or to hang much. Staff was great. The included breakfast was excellent.

I ate till I couldn’t eat anymore and had a great night’s sleep. Then thoroughly enjoyed the modern shower setup and breakfast in the restaurant. If I’m ever back in Aboyne I know where I would stay.

The Boat Inn is everything you could ask for. Great food / service / drinks selection. All the staff were 5-star. …. The accommodations in the rear were spectacular , spotless , every room en-suite and then there are the views. Would go back in a heartbeat! Thankyou to you all 👍

Staff was great. Our rooms were individually decorated and were quite large. Beds were very comfortable and location was beautiful. Every one of my party of 7 said they would return for a longer visit. Food was great!
