"The advert on the hotels.com website did not match the facts of the stay. The advert states free parking it was not it cost me £30 for the stay. We spoke to the owner who stated that the advert was not placed by him. It was the fault of hotels.com as he does not use them you get your info from a 3rd party All I know is that I am £30 out of pocket. "We have stayed at Astor house before so we came back to the same apartment. They had upgraded the sofas to recliners which was a nice surprise. The apartment itself is easy to get to clean and Torquay town centre is a short walk away. It has a great view over the beach side of Torquay and the area is quiet. The place is clean and well maintained and the host kindly provided some biscuits and milk. I would highly recommend this place."

"Location is great for the train station across the road but a fair walk into town. The staff were lovely. The pool and lounge bar are an incentive to spend time in the hotel especially in inclement weather"

"Great spot.Pretty decent facilities but they are getting a littles tired. One of the radiators didn't work. A shower handle was missing. Door lock to one of the bathrooms was very loose and would come off. Boilers noise is a real pain...sounded like buzzing bees and would keep guests awake in adjacent rooms if water was used anywhere in the chalet. Staff did say maintenance had gone home when items were reported but they would be out in the morning to look. Unfortunately no sign of any maintenance team! A real shame as have used the hotel on many occasions but this just didn't quite live up to what we were hoping for."

"The room was clean and well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful both during our stay and in communications before. The hotel was quite busy which made for a strange breakfast situation where many people were eating their breakfast in the lobby. I didn't much enjoy eating my breakfast in front of the lift, but the food was good. We had a twin room and unfortunately I did not get on well with my bed. In fact I can't remember a more uncomfortable bed in any hotel I've stayed in. The other bed was not as bad, but I ended up sleeping on top of the duvet, folded over twice, which much improved it. Nice and quiet in the room and with excellent blackout curtains."

"I had a comfortable night - despite facing the main road the double glazing kept the noise out (although as the weather was dreadful there were fewer drunken parties roaming the streets compared with a typical Saturday night). I didn't have breakfast so can't comment. My room was recently decorated though other parts of the hotel (such as the carpet on the main stair) could do with some attention."
