“A Beautiful Place to Relax”

Day Dream Island resort is a short ferry ride from Hamilton Airport, so is easy enough to get to. The grounds of the resort and the scenery are just wonderful. There is plenty to do there without spending additional money for trips off the island, and they seem to have activities for all ages. I was a bit disappointed with the snorkeling as the water was cloudy the whole time we were there. However, I was able to get a flavor for the Barrier Reef by spending some time at the resort's Living Coral Reef with real coral, sharks rays and an assortment of other tropical fish. Breakfast is included and had a large variety of hot and cold items. My husband is a big eater, so we enjoyed the buffet dinners. Our room was large, clean and nicely furnished. The staff was friendly and helpful.

“Daydream delight!”

The Hotel and Spa where beautifully maintained, the staff very friendly and helpfull, the food plentiful and nicely presented and tasty! The only thing I could fault would be the activities on offer, always booked up before we arrived! as this was a last minute holiday, we didn't have a chance to pre-book fishing charters or anything so we missed out. This was not enough to spoil a lovely relaxing break.

“Highly Recommended”

The facilities were fantastic. A range of pools and a number of activities to choose from. I enjoyed the kayak tour and snorkelling on the island. I was very impressed with the quality of the food in the Mermaids Restuarant. The food and drinnk was a little pricey but this was to be expected. Also, the range of food for one night was poor as there were only two options for dinner - a seafood buffet and take away. The location was about a 40min ferry trip from Hamilton Island Airport and all of our tours with Cruise Whitsundays picked us up from Daydream Island so this was convienent

“Jacob's first birthday on Daydream Island.”

We had a wonderful time. The island has many wonderful activities and pools and even a pool bar. The beds were realy firm and hard, i felt like i was sleeping on a plank of wood. We asked to get the bed changed and it was done straight away. Food was fantastic at mermaids restaurant and at the fishbowl. However, at the waterfall cafe, which was a bufet restaurant, the food was very basic. The chef needs to learn how to cook eggs. The scrambled eggs were aweful. The sunny side up eggs were dreadful. and for the poached eggs, well he didn't even attempt them because they were not even on the menu. All in all, we had a pleasant stay, The one down side is that everything on the island is so expensive. There is no competition on the island so the sky is the limit of how much they can charge, and charge they will. Like a wounded bull. For example, Four dollars for a little bottle of water. Crazy. 16 Dollars for a cocktail drink. 120 dollars to go parasailing. 190 dollars to hire a jetski. 75 dollars for a half hour massage. Don't even touch the mini bar fridge lol. The little convenience shop is a licence to print money. Everything in there is double the price of goods on the mainland. They do need to cover shipping costs to the island by ferry, it is just not fair how astronomical the prices are, they are making a killing, because if you need it, then you must pay for it. Overall we had a great time, swam alot and enjoyed our week away.

“Family resort, not for romantic couples”

A family hotel, if you are planing a romantic getaway For two, then this hotel is not for you The breakfast was great, but if you are a fussy eater And looking for oysters or fine dining then look elsewhere We upgraded to an ocean view room, but the balcony was so small that you can't even go around the table. Saying all that, for families looking at an island style resort will be ideal

“Daydream Island review”

The hotel @ food were very good but as the weather was so wet the roofs & gutters leaked very badly & some of the walk ways were very slippery. The last night there was a power cut & we were in total darkness until the management got the standbuy generater going. Why was it so long before the staff could fire it up? We walked over the island rain forrest track & i felt it neede some maintance in places

“Beautiful Location and surroundings”

Wonderful resort holiday destination. The grounds and facilities at Daydream are beyond belief. The pools, spa, gardens and living reef are meticulously maintained. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The resort activities were great - the guided fish feed, the rainforest walk, the mini golf (wonderful Australian theme), the outside movie theatre were all fantastic. The day outings booked through ''Cruise Whitsundays" were also well organised with warm and friendly staff.

“Daydream Island”

Unfortunately for us, there were two cyclones in the area, so the weather was not the best. Also, there was the threat of stingers in the water so the ocean water activities were not available. However, there were a number of nice sunny days, so we made good use of the beautiful pools. Day trips were well organised. Food was good; Mermaids Restaurant food was superb.
