Very pleasant stay
We had a very a very pleasant stay at Lily Palm. All the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, which was nice. We went out of peak season, so it was very quiet. The complex is clean, has a nice pool and access straight onto the beach. There is a nice Italian restaurant on site, but also some local restaurants on the beach as well which serve great seafood, and other nice places to eat within walking distance in town. The rooms are okay, maybe a little tired looking, but for the price we paid, we have no complaints. The bed was fine, and the Aircon worked, so we were content! We were on b&b rate - the breakfast was a little disappointing, and instant coffee was served rather than fresh...but again, for the price of this hotel we can't really complain. All in all, we enjoyed our stay. I would happily return.

Lovely grounds and a nice pool area, very inviting. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Food was ok, but the "juice" or mix or whatever it was at breakfast was virtually undrinkable.

DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY! The photos are old, the entire property is run down! Italians own it and all the other Good reviews came from mostly Italians and are false AF! I spoke to both owners as they were they lounging around on holiday and not giving a damn about theIr paying customers and staff. One of the owners told us we were cheap because we booked HIS property on Expedia!!! The pool and beach was great! But there are many haggling people on the beach trying to get you to buy things and take their tours, annoying. It was just hard to enjoy the beach. They did walk us across the ocean at low tide and it was fun. The restaurant staff was great! But I repeat, don’t stay here! If you decide to, Don’t get the all inclusive package. Don’t get breakfast included either. We didn’t and so glad because it wasn’t worth it. Food is sitting out and cold. However, The food we ordered a la carte was really good Just not many choices! The rooms were not as they appear online. The bathrooms are disgusting, missing grouting and stains on the walls and mirror. I could barely see myself in the mirror it was so old and dirty and also why you don’t see many photos posted of the bathrooms online. It wasn’t just my room. I booked 4 rooms for my group and 2 of the rooms were absolutely horrible! We demanded a room switch, but it wasn’t much better. The pool and location will suck you in but DON’T DO IT! I travel for a living and totally regret this stay. I hope this helps someone else.

It is an older facility in a old Swahili style so it is a bit rough on the edges but that adds to its charm. The location is 5+ star and all the amenities are fine such as fridge hot water linens a/c and fans. Rooms are comfortable with over-size beds and large Swahili style sofas both in the room and on the porch. There must be a staff of almost 100 and they are very friendly and helpful. You can not find a better deal for the price anywhere around. All the furnishings are very heavy custom made and hand carved wooden pieces. An enjoyable stay for me with complete relaxation for two weeks.

Good value in Watamu
My stay at Lily Palm was better than expected. It's a nice facility, right on the beach. The pizzeria is good. The staff all speak Italian. The only thing that I don't understand is the insistance on using disposable plastic cups for drinking water, but this seemed to be not strictly enforced.

Beautiful pool
We had a one night stay in Lily Palm en route and arriving late. The staff served us dinner (good grilled fish and chicken) when the kitchen was essentially closed. The rooms are very basic but serviceable (i.e. no toiletries but hot water, mosquito net in working order, a/c, towels and wash cloths). The pool and the ocean facing area are really wonderful - just like the pictures. The hotel has access to a good beach. Staff were very accommodating. Pool manager even check if kids could swim and I appreciated the safety concern. Good value for money for our family of 4.

Staff at Lily Palms were very kind, friendly and always ready to help. Food at Mapango restaurant was really tasty. Our toilet was somewhat not so clean and the shower area lacked a soap holder and the plastic curtain that shields water from splashing to other areas.

As for the shower curtain, in the coastal area of Kenya it is customary to have a shower without curtain, in almost all the hotel this is the case.

Positive: The swimming pool area and setting were absolutely magical. The view from the restaurant was equally spectacular due to the situation of the hotel overlooking a paradise like cove with coral islands in the middle. The food was better than you would expect in a typical all inclusive, but nothing out of this world. The AC worked fine, the screens kept me free from mosquitos. Turn on the fridge and it works fine. The rooms were clean, but not luxurious at all. I paid $55 a night (Bed and Breakfast only) for it, so I considered it a bargain. The staff was very friendly. Negative: The rooms were spartan at best, no coffee or tea service, only one very small bar of soap provided, no shampoos or anything, only two pillows on the queen sized bed, both of which were kind of worn out and low quality. Remember to turn on the hot water switch well in advance of wanting to take a shower, if not you will take a lukewarm shower. Some of the outlets didn't work, so I had to un-plug my night lamp to plug in my charger. The safe has a skeleton key that you have to rent for two dollars a day and then keep on you when you go out rather than a key code like most normal modern ones.

Nice hotel, but tired and in need of an overhaul
Staff were lovely, very friendly and welcoming and hard working, but food really not good. Buffet dinner cold and breakfast very dull. Swimming pools lovely, and great location close to the beach and Watamu village. The evening entertainment was awful! The singer really could not sing, so having to listen to the wailing coming from the bar every evening was upsetting!!

It was awesome. The location is great, just right by the ocean. 3 swimming pools. Rooms have AC, min fridge, hot water but you may not need it, the temperature is hot. Great customer service.

Leggendo le recensioni antecedenti avevo un po di timore,quindi ero pronta a tutto..Devo dire che i bagni delle camere dovrebbero essere ristrutturati ma i letti sono comodi e con zanzariere. Tutte le stanze sono pulite,con a/c e un delizioso balconcino.In bagno viene offerto solo una saponetta a testa(no shampo o bagnoschiuma).La proprietà in generale è molto carina e viene costantemente tenuta pulita da giardinieri.La piscina fronte mare è sempre pulita e con musica tutto il giorno.C'e anche un piccolo chiosco dove poter bere ottimi cocktail e che dalle 17 alle 19 fanno anche un piccolo aperitivo(con salame,formaggio,olive e patatine).credo che però per attirare piu clientela dovrebbero abbassare decisamente i prezzi (esagerati per essere a Watamu).Inclusi nel prezzo ci sono i soft drinks(fanta,sprite,coca e acqua) disponibili tutto il giorno. La ristorazione non è eccelsa ma in linea generale buona anche se con scelta ridotta:antipasti e contorno sono sempre gli stessi ma primi e secondi cambiano ogni giorno,offrendo almeno un piatto di carne e uno di pesce e due sughi diversi per la pasta.La caposala è fantastica.Credo che per il prezzo richiesto(escludendo viaggio e transfer) 70€ a testa all inclusive ci si possa leccar le dita.Chi lascia brutte recensioni è perchè vuole pagare poco e pretendere il lusso. Il personale è sempre gentilissimo anche se coi loro tempi(pole pole). Gli spettacoli serali sono eseguiti da divertenti ragazzi locali che parlano perfetto italiano.

Per essere in Africa, e considerato che si sta in resort quasi solo per dormire, visto il prezzo pagato, l'ubicazione, direi che è una buona struttura. D'altro canto aspetti negativi sono la colazione (mediocre), da fare nella struttura adiacente, e che al Lily il bar è chiuso da un pezzo, e troverete solo un distributore di acqua al bicchiere, quando funziona.

Finns mycket bättre hotell på kusten i Kenya!
Fina pooler och gott om solstolar men bara en restaurang öppen och ingen strandbar! Helt ok mat men i princip samma buffe både lunch och middag. Ville man ha annat än läsk eller vatten till middagen kostade det extra,. Pizza fanns men var dyr. Ägarna satt och drack champagne vid bästa bordet och om någon klagade över något skällde de ut dom! Aldrig varit med om detta någon gång förut, det var inte vi som blev utskällda men det var inte trevligt! Rummen var i ok skick och städningen också ok men det är svårt att se det som 4-stjärnigt även med Kenya-mått.Vi har bott på andra resorts i Kenya och dessa har varit betydligt bättre.

Bello soprattutto per la cordialità del personale
Vacanza assolutamente bellissima watamu è stupenda e la gente è gentilissima,l'albergo è centrale rispetto al paese ed alle spiagge più importanti. Personale molto carino e disponibile riesce a sopperire ad alcune mancanze soprattutto per ciò che riguarda il cibo del buffet che è sempre freddo e la frutta la scia a desiderare x essere in kenya! Molto meglio quando cucinano piatti locali che non la cucina internazionale.

Piscina stupenda, camere pulite, qualità del cibo scarsissima. Cibo servito riutilizzato dopo diversi giorni, io e mia moglie abbiamo avuto problemi intestinali per 2 settimane. Il problema principale della struttura è la gestione, un anziano signore che se ne frega altamente dei clienti e dei loro bisogni, ogni sera delizia il suo palato con menu’ alla carta come crudo e vino, mentre i clienti mangiano al buffet! Non ci ritornerei e non lo consiglierei

No había agua caliente para ducharse. Se corto la luz más de 1 día entero. La habitación estaba sucia, la ropa de cama con olor. Las ventanas del cuarto no cerraban, se llenaba de mosquitos. En la recepción no había nadie a partir de las 17pm hasta las 9am del siguiente día, y tampoco logro resolver los inconvenientes. El piso y las reposeras del sector piscina levantados y venidos abajo. Realmente un desastre. Aún aguardamos reembolso por parte de Expedia por promocionar un hotel que no cumple con las condiciones

Unfortunately the fact that the resort it's close to the beach cause bigger damages during time because of the wind and umidity, anyway we are doing our best with daily maintenance. Regarding the mattress we had to make a choise between different kind, and we choosed the softer version that make the most of our guests happy. We checked regarding the problem with the bed and we coudn't find any note from your side in the maintenance reception book. The WIFI is available also in the Mapango area as you can see in the description of the hotel when you make your booking.

Prisvärt hotell vid fin vik med härligt vit sandstrand. Hotellet hade tre pooler. Hög och lågvatten i havet, liksom längs hela kusten, och det möjliggjorde promenad ut runt öarna i viken. Vid vårt besök ca 40 gäster av kapaciteten runt 180 så var det lugnt och behagligt. Vi hade all-inclusive och bufféerna var bra, mycket italiensk mat (italiensk ägare), en kväll afrikansk mat som uppskattades. Kvällstid uppträdande med bl.a. Masaier, akrobatik och därutöver div. dans/sångtävlingar med varierande kvalité. Anläggningen/rummet var något sliten i jämförelse med bilderna. Sängarna hårda vilket är vanligt förkommande i denna del av världen. Wifi fanns i reception och delvis på poolområdet o fungerade relativt bra. Gångavstånd till angränsande vikar och andra hotell liksom område/gata med bank, matbutik och diverse försäljare. Bemötande och service var bra. Vattenaerobics, volleyboll och andra aktiviteter ordnades. Souvenir/kläd-butiken på hotellet hade bra kvalité och priser i nivå med försäljarna utanför hotellet. Info och hjälp med div. utflykter erbjuder hotellet liksom säljare på stranden/gatan men utan att vara allt för påträngande.

CIBO NON SUFFICENTE PER GESTIRE TUTTI GLI OSPITI, MANCANZA DEI PIATTI E SOPRATTUTTO IL CIBO PROPOSTO DA RIVEDERE COMPLETAMENTE, NON SI POSSONO PROPINARE AGLI OSPITI SOLO DELLE VERDURE, PASTA PRECOTTA, POLLO E PATATE, IL PESCE SOLO DI UN TIPO E SEMPRE SECCO E ASCIUTTO. PER IL MOMENTO NON CONSIGLIEREI QUESTA RESORT, MA SONO SICURA CHE CON LA NUOVA GESTIONE LE COSE MIGLIORERANNO.

Gentile ospite, grazie per la recensione. Ci scusiamo per i punti negativi, stiamo lavorando quotidianamente alle migliorie che competono ad un resort di buon livello come vogliamo e possiamo essere. Purtroppo cambiare la gestione e iniziare i lavori nel periodo di maggior afflusso non ci ha permesso di lavorare nelle camere in tempo utile. Spiaggia, dal 6/7 agosto avrà notato la pulizia, purtroppo per i lettini abbiamo bisogno di tempo, siamo in attesa della consegna. Per quanto riguarda il cibo ci sono stati aggiornamenti e la qualità oltre alla quantità sono migliorati.La pasta non è corretto definirla precotta, ma viene preparata in cucina e poi portata subito allo show cooking per i sughi. La invitiamo a tornare prossimamente, siamo certi rimarrà piacevolmente sorpresa. Cordiali saluti

Hotel tutto sommato soddisfacente pulito, disponibilità teli mare con cambio su richiesta anche se un po piccoli, colazione buona, a cinque minuti a piedi dal paese. Belle piscine (quella vicino alla reception vuota ma altre due vicino al mare e al ristorante) servzio spiaggia un po da rivedere con lettini vecchiotti e rotti, materassini in cattivo stato. Personale molto disponibile, i ragazzi dell'animazione simpatici e non invadenti. Possibilità di mangiare al ristorante Mapango, buono e con vista sul mare. La cassaforte è a pagamento, cosa non chiara nel sito. I prezzi per i trasferimenti con taxi (es.da e per aeroporto, altre spiagge, Malindi) compatibili con quanto si trova sul posto

Terrible place
The rooms are small and cramped. Bathroom is old, shower only handheld, window directly to the walk way. Noisy place. For some reason staff started cleaning the room next door at 3AM. In the other room next door an Italian couple had a constant and loud argument. There are ONLY Italians staying at Lily Palm. The whole place reminds me of a budget resort on Mallorca as they were 20 years ago. The breakfast is bad - it's in the tropics but still there was no real juice, just synthetic orange juice. The pool is okay except for the loud Eurothrash music banging out from loudspeakers all day long. I had booked and paid for six nights but I checked out after three nights and found a much better place.
