“Great hotel”

Stayed only for 1 night but with 2 small kids, got a fantastic room with study, living area, lovely bathroom on 11th floor, very clean, food delivered to the room was fast and very good, would recommend to anyone, only 20 min to the Pudong airport, however I took a taxi from a "hotel transfers and tourism" people located everywhere at the airport and paid 300 yen for the trip to the hotel when the correct price should be around 60 yen! be careful there.

“one of the best in Shanghai.”

It is a brand new hotel for only about one year. It is really luxury and comfortable. I was there for one night with my son because our international flgiht goes on the morning and it is only about 15 minutes driving to airport...We enjoyed a lot. Nice, clean and quiet...

“This hotel was really exceptional - location is NOT right at the airport though”

I thought this hotel was among the nicest i have stayed at in China. The service was excellent, the food was great, the room was very clean and well-appointed. I did not see any shoddy workmanship that seems to be typical of hotels that try to show a good face but aren't really that great when you dig into the details. Spa was excellent - overall, i would say that this hotel is well worth staying at - The only caution is that it is not as convenient as billed on website locators - 20 minute cab ride from Pudong airport. The surrounding neighborhood didn't seem too bad, it just was not really a location i would have expected to see an "airport" hotel.

“Beautiful Hotel”

Very prestigious and modern hotel, situated in a less than desirable neighborhood. The Hotel was top quality with great amenities, but the outside area is not very beautiful. Great hotel for stop-over.

“Great new luxury hotel near Pudong airport. Perfect for a night's stay during your flights.”

The hotel is almost brand new (as of January 2011). It is located in a satellite city of Shanghai, between Pudong Airport and the city. Although the hotel has airport shuttle service (running every hour), it is advisable to take a taxi (15-20 minutes, about 50 RMB from the airport).

“Great hotel, a simple tip to help your cabbie find it...”

The good part is that this hotel was lovely. It was very clean, the staff was very helpful and spoke good English. It was an excellent deal, and I would absolutely go there again. The bad part is that unless you're adventurous or speak Chinese, you may not be able to find it if you haven't been there already. The taxi I took from Pudong International Airport could not find it and actually put me out on the street in frustration, despite the fact that I had a map (in English and Chinese) with the hotel location marked on it. I ended up walking a kilometer or so through working-class Shanghai and found it myself after he dumped me on the side of the road. So if I can find it speaking no Chinese, and while dragging my luggage alone through the slums of Shanghai, I think anyone could find it if they want to. Here is the tip to find it even if you don't speak English. The hotel is almost directly EAST of the Howard Johnson's hotel that is on Chuansa. If you are at the Howard Johnson's Hotel, you need to go east at the FIRST CROSSROAD SOUTH OF THAT POINT. East is the way you will be facing if you stood with your back to the front entry of the Howard Johnson Hotel. There is a concrete arch over that road that says "Royal International Hotel", but the hotel itself is another kilometer or so further east. If you're on the road with the arch, you will NOT miss the hotel.

“Great hotel near PVG”

The hotel is close to the Pudong International Airport, and it costed me RMB 60 to take a taxi from the airport. It's quite new and room condition is very good. The neighborhood is not good but it should not be an issue if you are looking for a hotel for a plane stopover. The only drawback I felt was the Internet speed to US sites.

“Shanghai's Hidden Jewel”

This hotel exceded our expectations. My wife and I went on a 5 day business trip to Shanghai and chose this hotel by mistake just to realize it was one of the best mistakes we have ever made. Service was superb and the rooms were kept in pristine condition. The only downside is that the distance to the nearest subway station is a good 25 min walk thru a not so nice neighborhood. Other than that this place is a steal.
