Loved the property. Beautiful, clean and great people. Was disappointed to learn it is a valet parking only property w no self parking near buy and an additional charge of $49/night for that parking. I was very upset about that given there were no other options. I asked if a portion of that went to tip the parkers and it does not, so the optional tipping is on top of that. Also, no room service or hair services in their spa. Despite these issues, it’s a very nice hotel.

Dining only open Thurs.- Sunday(I believe) I was only there Tue.- Thurs Coffee/pizza and sandwich shop (I would not recommend) Valet was pricey We were not told where free parking was which reading from previous reviews that it was down the hill which is crazy! Surrounding stores were not all open

Great hotel, horrible mattress and forced valet
Elian is a very nice hotel. The property is beautiful and immaculately kept. We only have two draw backs about this property why we did not give it 5 stars: 1. If there was a free parking option and we chose to do valet that is very different. 2. Secondly, the bed was extremely UNCOMFORTABLE. It felt like sleeping on a piece of board. Both my wife and I woke up every morning with severe back pains from sleeping on the mattress. We both did not get a good nights sleep as we tossed and turned with aches and pains while sleeping. Unfortunately we chose this hotel for a relaxing getaway and ended up being tired and exhausted from a horrible nights sleep.

Not so good. Started off with checking in at 5.30 and being told check out time was 10. Then being told I could pay an extra $30 If I wanted to have an 11:30 check out. Not a nice way to treat your guests. There are too many great hotels that we stay in in San Antonio. Don’t think I need this…

Not a Good Experience Stay.
We did not hace Shampoo or Conditioner in the shower. We requested Valet parking and was not kept in Garage. Vehicle was wet and hail hit on Friday Night. Check out time policy is not good. 10 am. Checkout

A Hidden Gem
A hidden gem tucked gingerly away in the limestone cliffs of the Texas Hill Country ——north San Antonio La Cantera area. It’s more than a hotel and more like a village of modern condos with the Elian as its centerpiece. What an inviting oasis just minutes from fine dining, high-end shopping, and `relaxing spa treatments.

What took me by surprise was that the parking was not included unless we attended a presentation about their “time share offers”,if we attended we were offered a voucher to cover the parking cost. Found this to be distasteful. Employees we interacted with were polite. Service at the restaurant was slow because of few service personnel. They do not clean the room throughout your stay. Overall it was ok but I would not stay there again.

The hotel itself was beautiful, but when i checked in they informed me that my room was downsized because of a booking issue (through expedia), and that they didnt have any parking option besides valet (i did not see any mention of this during the booking process). They had a cover hold charge for covering any potential damages that was nearly as expensive as the room itself. We finally get to our room we were staying in and the A/C was apparently out on the whole floor. The receptionist told us that the repairman would be coming in an hour or two to get it started again (it was already past 2 am at this point) and didn’t offer us a fan or change of room and just told us to wait. We went the enter night with the room being 80 degrees, too uncomfortable to get even a minute of sleep. When we went to check out in the morning it was a new receptionist and she waved the valet fee for us in way of apology for our experience, but would not like to see myself staying here again.
