We were there at the beginning of June 2022 Well, all staff are helpful and very nice. Location of hotel is good. Walk 5-10 mins from Salzburg hbf. Can walk to city center 15-20 mins. But the condition of hotel itself really old, should have done some renovation. Our last night, the hot water for shower doesnt work, the staff told us nothing they can do, probaby alot of customer using hot water that time. Breakfast, it could be better than this for 100 euro per night

The hotel is nice but the room looks old and outdated. The area is nice and close to the train station. Easy access to the center by foot or public transport. Breakfast was nice. The stuff was very nice, helpful and welcoming.

Warm & clean hotel with very friendly staff - a short walk from the station (but no noise) and a longer walk down into town for the Xmas markets.

Nice location, walking distance to train and downtown. Check-in is not smooth. They require a printed receipt from Expedia though they could see we booked it through them. Luckily I was able to email the invoice to them and they accepted that.

Please consider you booked for the first night a superior room via Expedia and we are were happy because you asked for a second night. Only this room was already booked for another guest in the next days. So you had to change room, and as you made a booking via expedia again for the next day you have seen online there is no superior room avail. any more. This is why you made the reservation for another room type. A Standard room. We know that it was hard for you to change the room in the second night, we tried to explain this to you. Our team on the reception is very sorry for this inconvenience. But we cannot push out other guests who have booked their room long time ago. My worst experience !! Think about your stay of "Hotel Scherer" over and over. I sent a message twice to this Hotel thru booking.com, and no reply. I am afraid for cancellation of two nights stays. So i prepaid and send message again thru its homepage, and repled nothing. The very day my bus came delayed for a hour, and I called and send e-mail to it about my apology and changing schedule. I called again to help me for arranging for a taxi, when I reached the bus station. The Hotel person said me "go to my company hotel". I could not understand what they said, I make a taxi to go there. They met us outside the hotel, and just said "go to my company hotel" without any excuse or any apology for overbooking. I argued with them at 2 am, but in vain. If you would not feel like me, please think it over.

Very disappointed. Not a clean hotel sheet had stains on them we had to have them changed when we check-in the bedding under the sheet were also dirty stained and full of hair and the refrigerator did not work, the bathroom floors were dirty. Our stay here was very uncomfortable. Would not recommend.

Nice hotel, helpful staff
Nice hotel with a helpful staff. Air conditioning was nice. It's a little far from the sites, but at least close to the train station. Curtains blocked out a lot of morning light which was great for sleep.

It is located literally around the corner from the house wherein my mother and uncle grew up, two blocks from the Salzach and a ten minute walk from the Hauptbanhof.

Lovely hotel--clean, comfortable, and quiet. The included breakfast buffet was excellent with good variety. Staff was friendly and polite. The location was convenient for getting to/from O-Bus stops and the train station, but there were not a lot of restaurant or shopping options in the immediate vicinity. If you need a port-a-crib for a baby/toddler they have them available, but it took about 4 hours to have it dropped off at the room after we requested it at check-in, so plan accordingly.

Decent clean hotel
Clean decent hotel with professional staff. It was clean, but room was on the small side, but that's to be expected. The bed was also tiny, and I was not able to sleep well. Location is superb. It was close to Salzburg central and it made my late night arrival and early morning departure much easier and safer. Hotel is about 14 minutes walk to Mirabel Garden, and you can cross the bridge into old town easily. I walked everywhere from the hotel and did not need to use public transport.

small room and not many activiites or restaurants nearby but close to train station...had to take a bus to old town every day. we never were able to connect to internet but that could have been a problem with our device although we had no trouble connecting everywhere else

No frills but a nice place
Nice hotel in a great location, walking distance to the train station, restaurants, many sights, and tram stops. The only downside to the hotel is that the room was a little small and cramped and the decor is dated. However, everything was clean and in good condition. The mattress was comfortable. The breakfast spread was excellent, and the staff is very nice and helpful. Would stay again and recommend to others, with the caveat that it is an older and more modest hotel.
