The standard room was too small so we upgraded to a superior room which was larger by three feet to the side, not from the bed to the desk which would have allowed me to pass behind my husband at the desk. There was excellent lighting by the bed for reading, which is rare in hotels in Europe today. The shower was excellent with lots of space and hot water. Lots of space around the sink for toiletries. The decor was modern and fresh. However, if you come by car there is no place to unload your suitcases in front of the hotel. You would be in a car park across the street, or, on Saturday market day, a block away. Not good for us mature or handicap travelers. There is an elevator, very small but good.Free WiFi in the room. Reception was closed between 12:30 and 2:30, when we arrived so we ate a delicious lunch at the restaurant next door. Still, an inconvenience. No gratuities were provided in spite of these problems for us. Still, it was a good price for accommodations and right in the middle of the lovely town of Cogolin. You could find excellent breakfast or lunch take away food right there in the village center. We travel for 4 weeks at a time so this is nice for us to do on occasion
From the minute we arrived we were smiling. The wonderful woman at reception was lovely, spoke to us about the area and escorted us to our room. As we were also hungry not only did she recommend a wonderful restaurant for lunch she also called and booked us a table immediately as they were closing in 30 mins. We loved it so much we went back for dinner.
Unfortunately it rained.. Heavily the the night and day we spent in the area. The room - balcony room had a gorgeous view even if it was foggy and pouring.
The room was very clean, presented beautifully and the bed and pillows were so comfy.
A wonderful breakfast was on offer and we look forward to returning in spring or summer. Highly recommended! Very quiet and relaxing stay.
The staff were incredibly nice and went above and beyond in making our stay comfortable. The room was spacious. The gardens were zen and the hotel is in a great location, near the beach and restaurants. We would definitely recommend this hotel and hated to leave :-).
Jas Neuf is a lovely, Provencal style hotel in the hills above Ste. Maxime, across from St. Tropez. Our room had a nice, private patio overlooking the pool. It also had a set of two bunk beds, which would be perfect for a family travelling with kids. (We weren't, but the lower bunk bed's a great place to drop off luggage). The pool is beautiful-heated just enough to cut the chill while still being refreshing on a hot day. I was particularly impressed with the proprietors, who appeared to be a married couple. The wife spoke good English and went out of her way to be helpful about local travel and dining. Her husband, while less proficient in English, seemed to be working hard to keep the place up. The vista from our room over the pool to the gardens and adjoining buildings was a picture-perfect display of what you think of when you say "South of France." Now this is a "suburban" location, so a car is a must. Your first few trips to and from the hotel can be confusing, but, once you get the hang of it (and local signage directing you to the hotel helps), you'll get to and from town or the beaches in under 10 minutes. Speaking of the town and beaches, both are great in Ste. Maxime, though parking in town can be a trial. We took the ferry to St. Tropez, and then a taxi back and forth to a white sand beach (and beach club (Club 55)) nearby, but that can add up to a lot of Euros, especially when you include all day paid parking at the port of Ste. Maxime. Still, I love this hotel!

Our hotel room was based on the standard Ibis formula, and therefore was as expected. The hotel staff were pleasant, and the swimming pool surprisingly relaxing considering its proximity to a main road. There is a large supermarket nearby, which we found convenient. You do however need to have a car if you are staying at this hotel and want to visit Cogolin, Saint Tropez etc.
