In-room private spa is the one attracting us.
But if you fill hot water into spa, you could not have shower, it seems hot water was limited supplied :(
Daily room service and bed setting service made us satisfied.
Very good location you could walk to everywhere!
Welcomed to the hotel by the manager, who couldn’t do any more to help if needed.
The room was spacious and comfortable, although only used the spa on my last morning.
Lots of opportunities to walk to the town centre and Government Gardens from the hotel, whether for a beer, shop or food.
2 supermarkets nearby to help use the cooking facilities in room
On arrival the man in the office was abrupt and seemed to be in a big hurry to show us our room and wasn’t at all welcoming. The room’s windows and doors were shut so it wasn’t aired out and it was extremely hot inside with no aircon. There was a pedestal fan in a cupboard that he did find time to show us! We did arrive on a summers evening and it was a hot day.

Great Value
Went to ROTORUA for a funeral on New Years Eve. Was lucky to find any accommodation. Golden Glow was quiet and good value.
Enjoyed my stay there. Would go back again. Everything was perfect.

Quite close to the city centre, clean basic room
Prior to my arrival, I send two enquiries to Golden Glow Motel staff via Hotels.com, no reply from them. Upon arrival, a Chinese lady at Reception checked us in. She was hostile. Anyway, we were given key to Room 4, which was noisy as it is near the main road. The room was clean and quite spacious. Housekeeping cleans room on daily basis. For the price we paid, it was relatively ok.
Motel was absolutely stunning! We checked in and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was perfect and it was clean. Cooking facilities were adequate and the utensils were clean. Every day after we left the room was cleaned - bed made, dishes cleaned and towels replaced. The overall experience was amazing and can not fault it. Definitely returning and referring family and friends there also.
Location was good, place was clean but everything was old and smelt old. Room was best of lot however could hear neighbors through wall. Service limited to office hours and never returned calls, checked out day early even though we were paid a day extra we forfeited. Hot water was luke warm. Recommend a back packers cheaper and better
I arrived on a very hot summers day and managed to cool down considerably after 10 minutes in front of the fan. Room was nice and cosy with a private hot tub, very clean and tidy. Motel is close to a lot of amenities. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and went back home relaxed and refreshed.
Room met expectations, clean modern, good beds, no outside disturbance
Had to open door and kitchen window to get ventilation as room was hot.
Not told that we had to climb steep stairs to reach room, so unsuitable for elderly and infirm.
Also difficult to get into spa pool/shower unit, needed flexibility and agility, not common in elderly..
Receptionist helpful, friendly and even helped my wife with her luggage to get up the stairs
From the moment we arrived we were in heaven. The in room hot tub was fabulous and extra hot. The kitchen was well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. Our host could not do enough for us. Nothing at all was too much trouble - from making dinner reservations, to booking cabs, umbrellas at the ready as it rained, everything was perfect. The location is also great as it is about 10 min's walk to the city itself. There is a supermarket across that road for all your needs to fill the kitchen. There is a restaurant about 2 min's walk towards the city and a fab takeaway 3 min's walk the other way. Every room has it's own thermal pool and there is a laundry on site. We will be back most certainly...
Ideal place for our night in Rotorua. We were just there for the night and this Motel ticked all the boxes.

Great value
We were able to check in early. The lady in reception was extremely helpful, even lending us an umbrella to use for our stay. The room had everything we needed for a night away, including tea and coffee making facilities with a carton of milk provided. The room is nothing special but it was perfect for us and for the price you can't go wrong.

Close to town
Really bad shower prusure and bad stairs going up to room
It was a good room, but too small for a lounge chair to sit on, had to use kitchen chair or bed to watch tv. Clean and tidy, but no desire to stay more than one night. Good spa bath, but no exhaust fan, had to climb along edges to open window, ledge was covered with black damp dust. But, overall, nice.
We were greeted very warmly when we arrived which was nice and information provided as we needed or wanted.
The location being within walking distance of the city was totally awesome!
This was our first overnight stay away with our 11month old baby, and we didn't encounter any issues, which made our stay lovely for our boy's first night away!
No airconditioning, noisy, poor wifi, no milk provided, no decent bench to make coffee etc. bed mattress not very comfortable, furniture old.
This motel is self rated and should be two and a half star.
Definitely over priced.

Simple yet perfect
The room was perfect for our needs. Loved having a self filling spa pool. Staff friendly and rooms cleaned well daily.
Only downside was no air conditioning although the room had 2 fans.

Our room was tidy and well equipped with all the basics we needed, staff we're so lovely and friendly.
Lovely owners: very helpful and pleasant and proud of their motel. It's clean, comfortable and our room had a huge big spa tub that was quite wonderful at the end of a busy Rotorua day. A well-stocked kitchen made our meal planning easy.
Our service was very friendly and accommodating however we weren't given an option to not have our room serviced while we were out for the day. I was also not happy that my credit card was charged for the room 2 days before we had arrived even though I had chosen the option to pay at the hotel.
Overall though, the hostess was lovely and our room was comfortable and clean, I would stay there again.
Cleanliness was very disappointing, spa was filthy and required the cleaner back to re clean.
Room was very hot and needed the window to stay open but had no security stays to stop them opening right out.
Parking layout was a mess, with most numbers faded so we struggled finding ours.
I stayed here for 2 nights with my husband and young son. The one bedroom unit is compact, but had everything we needed for our stay. Great location - walking distance to main shops/restaurants and a big supermarket just across the road. The private spa pool/bath was a definite bonus.

Close to Town
Nice place, far closer to town than most motels. We've stayed in a fair few (have family in Rotorua) decent standard, outdoor spas but area is enclosed so they're sheltered even on a cold night.

Golden Glow Stay.
All that we needed, i.e had hot tub. Clean, close to town and reasonably priced
Was great except when being told by management we were too loud when up late talking with a friend outside in the sitting area of our unit. Only reason it was a problem was because they walked past. We were not loud we even asked a neighboring unit when they came out. Felt we were given a telling off to go to bed. Not a nice way to end our holiday considering how much I had paid for it. Other than that was fine.
i wouldn't recommend any of my family or friends to stay for two nights in this motel.
The lady is very lovely although the men weren't as polite and showed appalling customer service. Wasn't treated very fairly at all.
Bed & spa was comfortable.
