G Hotel

"Would I book into this hotel again?"
G Hotel is in Pomezia (30 mins by car from the airport) and is in a business area. Convenient if you have a car as it is a 30 min ride to the next town. There is only one particular bus that goes to the nearest train station/town. G hotel is more for business people for meetings or conferences as there are no attractions, especially for children and is near a motorway. There is a limited amount of food on the dinner menu that you can order G Hotel. Nearest taxi is 30mins from the hotel, no mini cabs, and it cost us £60 euros to pick us up and take us to the nearest town called Florentina. From Florentina you can catch a train to Termini and another train to the main town for visits to the Colloseum, Vatican etc. We ended up booking into another hotel in Barberini for the rest of our holidays so we wouldn't have to waste time on travelling and money on taxis. Barberini is the place to be or any other towns nearby if you want to visit the main attractions. Many hotels to choose from. It did cost us 120 euros per night excluding VAT but it could be because we went around Easter time.

"Port of Civitavechia Hotel"
We were going on a cruise leaving from Civitavechia Port and wanted to arrive the day before. We did not want to stay in Rome. We booked a room with Hotel Borgo based on the reviews. The reviews were spot on. Our room was #114. which is the second floor in Italy. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. Free wi-fi. Nice breakfast included. Pickup from airport to hotel for a reasonable fee. Excellent communication via emails. Friendly and professional. Free shuttle from hotel to port was a plus.

Villa Susanna

Via Giacinto Bruzzesi n. 3/a, Civitavecchia - Map

"Great place to stay"
The Villa Susanna is conveniently located to the train station (10 min walk), shops (5 min walk), and the cruise ship shuttle bus (15 min walk). It was very homely and our room (room 4) was very large with a good sized bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean and although the staff spoke little English they were extremely pleasant and helpful and always tried to please. Good quality linen and comfortable beds. Tea and coffee was available in the small community kitchen as was a microwave. The supplied breakfast was simple but adequate. Travelers beware of pickpockets. We thought a bird had pooped on us on the way to the cruise ship and a fellow came over and offered to clean it off with water and tissues. It was actually muddy water and he not only cleaned the play poop but cleaned us out as well taking my wallet with credit cards and another 600 euros and I never felt a thing. And he also replaced my wallet with another full of tissues. To do this he had to undo a leg pocket on my cargo pants. Very professional but designed to stuff your holiday. I suggest the Villa put up a notice in the kitchen to warn against such low life.

"Great location if you are taking a cruise."
We arrived from Fiumicino airport several hours prior to check-in time. Our luggage was cheerfully taken and stored while our rooms were being readied and we were free to walk around the hotel neighborhood. Location, Location, Location are the three key words to describe this hotel. If you are in town to begin your Med Cruise, you've chosen the right hotel. It is within sight of the cruise port (easy walk if you're not carrying three-weeks worth of luggage) and smack-dab in the middle of all of Civitavecchia's restaurant and club action. The hotel was pleasant, breakfast was the usual "continental" type, nothing fancy; juice, coffee, rolls, etc. Cost was lower than expected for the quality received. The hotel arranged for a Mercedes mini-van to take us to the ship following morning--cost was reasonable, driver handled all luggage as it was transferred to ship's baggage personnel.

"great location for cruise ship"
Great experience! Hotel staff very nice and accommodating. Staff placed us in an extremely nice room that had a big balcony. The cruise ship shuttle parking lot to the right of hotel was easy walking distance with luggage. Easy walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Train station approximately 15 minute walk from hotel. Grocery market nearby if needed. Safe location near police and fire station. Hotel does have an elevator. Definitely would stay here again!
