Room smelled bad. I needed a bathtub due to a bad back and hours and hours of travel. Had to go into a smoking room and the bathtub wouldn't hold water. Towels and washcloths were threadbare and grossly stained. Everything was old and rusty. Would not stay here again!!
Room was pretty wore out, dated and needed maintenance and a remodled bathroom, room was noisey with sound from the freeway but for the price i wasnt upset. Bed was clean, towles were wore out, tv worked but it was old.
They've done a good job renovating the rooms. There's a little way still to go. Great for a short notice stop when you need a good night's sleep. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. What more could you ask for?
The coffee pot was sus and the air conditioner seemed like it was on its last leg but otherwise it cooled the large room. My brother and SIL had stayed there years prior and said that it is in way better condition than previously. The staff is a little hard to get a hold of and when I went to the office for check out I asked if there were additional charges, the guy working the front desk seemed annoyed that I asked since I paid Hotels.com BUT they had my credit card on file that could be charged — I really didn’t appreciate being blown off like that.
The room reeked of a very strong smoke smell that was very hard to get passed. So much so that it made it very difficult to sleep let alone relax as rest while there for a family funeral.
Found a cockroach in vanity area. Very pushy staff housekeeping. I had told her 15 minutes earlier that I was checking out at 11:00 am. She was knocking on my door LITERALLY at 11:00 am before I could walk bags to car. Also, manager refused to print me a receipt. Kept saying can’t because I paid Expedia, but the last THREE hotels ALL printed me a final copy. I explained carefully and offered to show him other ones. Nope. Bummer.
Stopped by to sleep on the way to SPI. Despite it being a “cheap inn”—the room was neat and comfy actually way better than expected for $55. You can tell the room was “newer” compared to other inns or motels. I feel like the bed was relatively new and it was not worn out. The AC was turned off when we arrived so the room was hot and humid, but after about 30 min the whole room was cooled down and freezing by the middle of the night so we had to adjust it! The check in clerk was nice. The room was in better condition than the resort we stayed at on SPI the following night. It definitely changed my mind on being hesitant about “cheaper” places to stay! Behind a Whataburger so that’s a plus!

One night. Good location close to fuel, restaurants, and HEB. Room was a little grubby.
Very nicely decorated, spacious room. Very good hot breakfast. Friendly staff. Only complaint is that shower and bath stoppers were both broken, making it impossible to shower or bathe. I assume this was an isolated problem.
Lovely interior, just a short walk to the Beach Access to Padre’s actual beach. Four of us gals had 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, which was lovely; and each bedroom had its own TV. Loved the place…
