Walk to Malecon, Romantic zone with many restaurants. Nice room with frig, microwave and coffee maker. Maid cleans daily. restaurant on hotel is very acceptable.

Overall experience was terrible because of the staff. Staff was rude and very inconsiderate towards guests. We had a total of 3 rooms in this hotel (really wish we didn't) and the check-in process took forever. The hotel only accepted limited payment methods and wouldn't let you keep your bags in the room or even take a shower until you make the full payment first!! At first they sent me a note saying that you need to pay or call us in 24hrs or we will cancel your booking, so, I paid half the amount (through paypal as a workaround) to ensure my booking. I spoke to their representative who knew the issue but at the time of check-in they refused to generate a paypal link and said we would only accept CASH!! I could not even step in to the room after almost 10hr of travel until I paid them in full (all cash). Exchange rate was as per their wish which I found to be really an easy money making opportunity for them. Alberto B. (one of their receptionist) is till date the rudest hotel staff I've meet and I've been to over 23 countries so far, so he is right up there on the top. He would stop you each time to enter the hotel and check for items you are bringing in (like seriously?), water bottles included. He could not speak english and would only say a sentence or two in Spanish with the word "NO" at the end and make you guess what does he mean. I am pretty sure he was making up rules as he went because none of the emails I received from Expedia or the hotel had mention of pol

The ambiance of Mexico was throughout this 1958 hotel. Close to the ocean and the Malecon. Shopping out your front door. If there was a 4.5 rating, this hotel has it.

This is my second stay at this property and again, I had a wonderful time. I worked from my room a couple of days and the internet speed is excellent with routers for every 2 rooms to share. The on site restaurant, COEXIST, is amazing. I've tried something from every section of the menu and everything was very tasty and of high quality. Kudos the chefs for creating great dishes. The team at Hotel Rio is always ready to help you and answer any questions you may have about the area. The Malecon boardwalk is across the street with tons of shops and restaurants. The secluded pool and sun space is really nice and quiet where you can unwind. I will definitely be back... again. :)

Let cation was excellent! Rose at the front desk is amazing! Very helpful and super nice! Love her. The pool isnt a real “ swimming pool that you can actually swim in! It is there for aesthetics! We booked it because of the pool, so that was a disappointment. The rooms are bare bones, but very clean. The restaurant was OK. A lot of traffic, but you’re in the middle of everything, which we enjoyed.

The staff are very friendly and go the extra mile to make your stay perfect. The hotel is great, everything is concrete on the inside of the rooms with colored designs. Soundproof, clean, sturdy. Location is prime! Walking distance to everything in Centro and the Malecon. Restaurants, shopping, drinking, excursions. The restaurant at the hotel is great. Friendly service, decent prices and the food was great. I had several breakfasts, pizza, pasta, seafood and all was excellent. See you soon Hotel Rio!

This hotel is in a fantastic location. Right at your doorstep is the Romantic Zone, Downtown and the Maleconè is not even a block away. The Rio Cualè river market is also right there. The staff are friendly and helpful. I've stayed at a few other hotels in the RZ around the same price and this one is definitely the cleanest! If you're not planning to spend much time at your hotel, this spot is perfect. If you want a place to lounge with a view maybe not for you. This was my second time staying at the RIO and I would stay again.

The strangest part about the room we had is that you have to put your room key in a box mounted on the wall for the electricity to work. And, the air conditioner was either on because the key was in or off with the key out, no other option to adjust the air conditioner. We didn't need the air conditioner at night but did not have lights without putting the key in the box. I've never seen a set up like this. The shower did not always have hot water...but did most the time we needed it. It's a basic hotel room, no fridge, microwave etc. Staff are friendly and it's a super easy walk to the Malecon.

Everything was great about this place, only thing is there was a decent amount of mold in the bathroom in my room. So just be cautious of that if you plan on staying here. I think it's due to the fact that the bathroom doesn't have a fan or ventilation, outside of the door being left open.

I do not recommend this hotel. 1. My bathroom had MOLD. There was no fan, window or ventilation of any kind in our bathrooms. I witnessed and took photos of them JUST PAINTING OVER IT... No vinegar, bleach, nothing to deal with the mold. So it smelled of paint all 3 days I was there. I'v been sick for over a month since getting back. 2. The second bed in the room was a not a bed but a mattress on top of a futon. .

Hotel was perfect for my needs. I needed a one night stay between a few days in Yelapa, and flying out of PV. The room was clean. Water pressure was amazing. Lots of conveniences immediately around the hotel. 10 minute walk to the romantic zone. The only suggestion I have for them is maybe they consider a fee you can pay to check in a few hours early. Otherwise it was A .

Basic low cost walk-up accommodation. Smallish room in older facility. Nice courtyard with pool and tropical vegetation. Inventory of linens and employee inspection of room before checkout was off-putting. Coexist restaurant on site was very good. Easy access to Malecon and shopping. This hotel is located in the heart of downtown. The staff is friendly and the grounds are clean. My only complaint is that the administration is not understanding. We requested a change in our reservation due to some unforeseen circumstances and they weren’t willing to work with us, in spite of us staying here year after year. In the past there have also been issues with our check in, in spite of presenting identification and matching reservation confirmation. We are very disappointed and do not plan to stay here again.

Great hotel, great location. Malecon is literally across the street. The area has access to everything you need from food options, banks farmacia etc. Only downfall is if you are on the main street side, it can be a little loud with traffic but not intolerable. We didn't use the pool. It looks nice but it's in the middle of the restaurant and I found that a bit awkward. That is really my only real complaint

Wonderful staff, welcoming and efficient. Hotel building was a bit aged but clean and well cared for. Rooms were quiet and had black out curtains. Surprisingly tranquil given the bustle of surrounding shops, restaurants, etc. Over all a great stay and central location.

As we have mentioned before and as we have demonstrate you, the charges you say it was not our mistake; For the own security of all our visitors it is mandatory to showing on physically present the same credit card you provide us to guarantee your stay, unfortunately you did not bring it eventhorught we mentioned you many times, therefore we have had proccess your reimburshement of the total amount to your account and asking you for a new method of payment. On regard, third charges and as we have demostrate before too, it was AMEXCO company to affect you. Perfect place in PV!
The Hotel and staff were great. Not luxury but a great deal for the cost. Great location, clean, and great restaurant adjacent where at 10% discount is given to hotel guests. We'd stay there again, and again.

The management locked us out of our room 1/2 hour before check out without any type of notice or reason. We had to be let in by one of the staff members to get our luggage so we could get to the airport on time. Also the management came to my room one afternoon while I was ill and trying to sleep and demanded I pay him immediately for an accident that happened. I felt threatened as if was a criminal and would run out without paying him. I will never stay there again. The rest of the staff were all very nice, respectful people.
