“My child love it”
The hotel like the forest, lovely swiming pool, clean room, friendly staff......
“Very nice place...”
This was a very nice place and it looks like Ramada is taking over (from Mercure Treetops) to update the property. I loved the atmosphere but it needed a little TLC here and there. I had to ask the front desk to have the shower curtain replaced -- it was orange with mildew at the bottom (yuk) -- and they did so IMMEDIATELY. Kudos to them. Overall it was a very nice location and room service (food) was excellent. We also loved the Daintree Forest and would suggest you stay there one night as well -- so much to see. Just a note to the wise -- don't go on a boat to the Great Barrier Reef if the winds are 27 to 30 knots -- it's too rough and the swells are huge. Take a helicopter out to the Reef -- it's worth the money!! Driving on the left side of the road is a little challenging but the good news is there wasn't a lot of traffic in September (shoulder season) so It was easy.
“Had a great time”
loved the restaurant, pool and bar area all staff were very friendly and helpful
“expensive bar service”
for 2 elderly people we found all amemities too far away, too much walking . food and alcohol too expensive, at times car park overcrowded and room service could be improved and a toaster would be handy of a morning . main entrance staff helpful and pleasant .
“be sure to check the name of the hotel before you leave”
I booked this hotel 3 months ago and when we tried to find it, we couldn't b/c the name had changed from Mecure to a Ramada. It would have been nice if we had been notified. Luckily a hotel nearby sent us in the right direction. We later found out that it had also been a Radisson sometime. In any event, the pool area was pretty, the breakfast was pricey but the atmosphere was neat with trees poking through the roof. Reception was very helpful with booking our tour. Would stay there again, the price was right.
“Hotel Renovations beware!!!”
Renovations going on across corridor banging commenced at 7am, so much for my holiday sleep ins! Hammer drills started at 730 on the first morning until I complained then the next two days it didn't start til 9am but still clattering around at 7. Couldn't slide my sliding door as the filth on the tracks was unbelievable. Surprised a resort didn't have an iPod dock or an outside table. On the up side the grounds were beautiful the restaurant meals were also very nice.
