Enjoyed the comfort of the room, service was prompt and place was maintained well. Room was spic and span, and facilities were amazing. Good food, esp drinks at the pool were refreshing. Definitely recommended for a quick getaway or a long relaxing stay. Best facility was attached pool from the comfort of your own room.
Great location - you could explore up or down the beach, with plenty access to food / bars, or explore onto the main road, with great spots just outside the hotel (explore northwards for more shopping / food / sights)
Wonderful smiles all round - although the staff's english is not the best, but they make it up with genuine and warm smiles throughout the day
Great pools - plenty access to pools (as the sea was too rocky during monsoon season) with a swim up bar
Comfy rooms and service - comfortable rooms and facilities are in great shape (helps when the hotel is relatively new)
We stayed here in April and as well loved it so much, we stayed again in September. We met the new manager who never failed to remember our sons name and say hello. We also had the pleasure of being served breakfast again by Duen and North who every morning had such beautiful smiles on their faces and were so thrilled to see us and even remembered us from back in April which was amazing. We will be definitely back again as we love the beach, pool and hotel so much and you have the nicest staff which is just wonderful for us tourists. Oh an if anyone goes for a stroll on the beach at dusk to night you will see firefly's dancing in the bushes near the rocks. It was truly devine.
The rooms were super moldy. The smell of garbage was unbearable. The staff was super rude. The beach area near the hotel was a pile of garbage. We had to carry our luggage in two flight of stairs. When we asked to check out early but were asked to pay even if we couldn't stay in a moldy room. Another couple was waiting to leave as well because the hotel was in a horrible condition.
"Fantastic hotel, top quality room and facilities"
We arrived late to a very courteous and efficient check in at the Apsara; opened the door to a fantastic sea front room, which was all the more appreciated when we opened the curtains in the morning to find the beach right under our nose. Absolutely wonderful stay, in a really nice part of Thailand which is recovering so well after the devastation of 2004.
This is not a place for the night Owls and Ravers, in fact the only downside was the fact that the evenings could be just a bit too sedate; but that is probably due to being there at the start of the season. If you want bouncing bars and the rest then stay closer in to Khao Lak town. Everywhere we went along the very very long beach, we were greeted by friendly and efficient staff from the smallest one person pop up, to the more established beach bar/restaurants. Be sure to try a meal at the little restaurant at the very end of the beach road (about 1km away from the Apsara, easy walking) it is worth the effort to go on (early) past the few usual stops clustered around the junction.
