“Friendly and Cozy”

Lovely French hotel. Very friendly staff. Hotel rooms are small but comfortable and clean. I'm a larger person and had no trouble with bathroom. Nice breakfast room. Walking distance to Eiffel Tower and many other places of intrest including the Osey and the Lourve. Close to metro. The hotel staff recommend a restaurant near by that had beautiful meals. Very happy with my stay here and would stay at this hotel again.

“Great place for a museum lover like me!”

If you are a person who likes/needs to travel in the lap of luxury or if you need to be near the night life, this is not the place for you. However, if you are comfortable in quiet, clean surroundings that are close to great museums, you should consider this hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It is a small, older hotel and my room was small, but I was traveling alone and most of my time in it was spent sleeping, so the room size was not an issue for me. The staff was friendly and helpful. I have been taking French lessons for almost a year, so I was able to communicate with staff for the most part in French. However, the staff are bilingual and in instances where my French was not sufficient, they assisted me in English.

“Location--Location--Location!”

We just returned to Chicago from 11 days in Paris, stayed at the Hotel de Lille. Location was magnifique. Couldn't be better situated between the Latin Quarter and St. Germain, and reasonably priced. We could walk to most museums and historic sites. 5 minutes to the Metro. Hotel was spotlessly clean and staff was consistently respectful, generous and helpful--they helped us to navigate Paris quite well. One street from the Seine. The room was small but quite cozy and clean, and attended to daily by staff. We would be delighted to stay there again.

“Very pleased”

We found the Hotel de Lille a delight. Had read mostly good reviews, and must agree with them. The reception staff was friendly and extremely helpful. As we were warned, our room was small, but we have stayed in smaller rooms in other places. The elevator was perhaps the smallest we'd ever seen. However, it was there, completely functional, and much appreciated. At night, the area around the hotel is very peaceful and quiet. There are no Metro stops close by, and the selection nearby of bars, cafes, etc., is limited. On the other hand, there is a bus stop on the next block, and it is only a short walk to the Louvre or Musee d'Orsay. There is an RER train station at the Musee d'Orsay. We also found Rue St. Germain, Blvd. St. Michel, and Notre Dame Cathedral to be easy walks from the hotel. We would definitely stay there again if we have the opportunity.

“Where I'll Be Staying When I'm In Paris”

I had a single room, very small as expected, but just what I wanted. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The closest RER stop was at the Musee d'Orsay a couple blocks away. The area around the hotel seemed pretty empty of people later at night. The air conditioning in the room worked very well. The Wi-Fi seemed to work off and on.

“Great location, clean, nice people, small rooms, no shower”

The title of the post pretty much says it all. My wife and I visited in March '11 and really enjoyed our stay. You get what you pay for here, and we paid for both its general location (across the river from the Lourve, just down the street from Musee d'Orsay) and its immediate surroundings (many antique shops, high end cheese shops, etc.) The room itself was very small by our standards, I had to step over my suitcase when I would put it down. If you are planning to vacation to Europe and intend to spend lots of time in the room, then this probably isn't the place for you.

“Great for the price”

This hotel has small rooms, great location and is an excellent value if you value location over room size. The room is clean and comfortable, just not large. The staff is helpful and attentive. But if you want a large, lavish room, that just isn't what they offer, so you'll probably have to spend more somewhere else. Overall, I got exactly what I expected when I booked the room. No complaints.

“Awesome location”

We booked the hotel based on the traveler reviews and they were spot on! The hotel is in a great location, the room was small but comfortable and clean. The bathrooms were reviewed as "small" but small doesn't quite cover it - they are very, very small especially the shower. A couple of days is okay, but by the end of our 7 nights we were ready for a proper bathroom. That is our only warning about this hotel. The staff were great and the petit dejeuner (small breakfast) was actually quite a deal and we would suggest that to the surrounding cafes.
