"Quaint stopover hotel"
Loved the room. It had a lot of old world charm. Location is nice except at night when the street isn't very well lit. Saw many homeless people but did not encounter any problems. Parking was a bit confusing to find but managed to find by asking on the street.

"A good choice for seeing Marseille."
The hotel is close the TGV station and this was important as we were trying to only use public transit and "foot power". The hotel is clean and comfortable and there was a closet to hang up a few things. The hotel staff were polite and helpful.

"Great hotel, close to port & bus/train station."
I booked this hotel for a one-night stay to transit between an evening train ride and an early flight the following morning. The St. Charles bus/train station is a 5 minute walk and offers frequent bus service to the airport. The hotel is also a 5 minute walk from the port area where there are many restaurants. The hotel was perfect. There is no elevator, so you have to carry your bags up several flights of stairs (4 flights for me). If you pack light, this is not an issue. The room was not large, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was roomy. The staff were wonderful. The evening clerk was friendly, provided helpful dining suggestions, and even loaned an umbrella for a rainy night. The morning clerk provided an early breakfast of coffee, fresh-squeezed orange juice, warm bread, and jams. I was sorry that I could not have stayed longer.

"Good location, very slow internet. Acceptable for "
Hotel is conveniently located, close to Gare Saint Charles. You can even see the hotel name from the gare stairs at your far left. Walls need to be painted. Room cleaning also need to be improved. There are many mosquitos around the room, I think because there are garbage containers just in front of the hotel.

"Good value for money"
The hotel is very convinient if you're travelling by train. The train station is 2 mins away! Staff was nice and friendly. The room was a bit tiny, especially for two people. We could see a bit of dust here and there so it wasn't spotlesss but on the other hand, I've seen worse. Bathroom was a bit small. Good water pressure. You get two bath towels and a bathmat so you have to ask for extra towels at the reception if you're in need of more. There's no fridge or kettle in the room. Not sure if that's the standard for Ibis hotels as that was the first Ibis I've stayed in. Apparently, the walls are a bit thin. We didin't hear anything but one night a woman banged on the door saying that we were really loud and she might complain about us to the staff. We talked as normal so not sure why she was so agitated but you might want to be quieter after 10pm. Overall, it was a good experience but the room could be a bit more spacious.

"Great little hotel"
We only had two nights in the hotel, which is right next to the railway station. The room was bright and immaculately clean. It faced the main road but with the double glazing we didn't hear a thing and the blackout curtains let us sleep in. The air con worked a treat on a stinking hot day. All the staff were extremely helpful and at breakfast we could ask for freshly made pancakes, or eggs a special way, etc. There was plenty of choice at breakfast. Oh, and bottomless coffee in the foyer! Can I find anything bad to say about the hotel? No.

"Quiet room next to the train station"
I had a night in Marseille waiting to connect with some friend to head to the coast. This room was close to the train station and quiet, the two things I needed.

15 Boulevard Maurice Bourdet, Marseille - Map
Arriving late evening by train it was lovely to just walk across the street from the station, and have a pleasant, efficient check in and a quiet room for the night. After a long day of exploring, the metro ride from the Old port (€3.10 for return journey or for 2 one way) back up to the hotel was a blessing, and we used it to go to and fro the opera and for a quick trip to Galleries Lafayettes before leaving. The room was very wardrobe, more of a coat stand with limited hanging. We were only in Marseille for 2 nights, arriving and leaving by was ideal!
