"This small(15 rooms/suites) hotel is located on the edge of the caldera, with spectacular views. The rooms are comfortable and decorated appropriately (secularly) for a beautifully converted former religious residence. The included in-room full breakfast was excellent; and was an especially enjoyable way to take in the unobstructed view from the private terrace. The staff is attentive, and had good advice on things to do and places to dine all over the island. They added a lot to our enjoyment of our stay. One caution: there are steps to climb to get to most rooms; and the short walk to the shops and restaurants of Thira includes a bit of a climb (but not too much for a couple of 70 non-atheletes). Taxis do not pull up to the hotel, due to restricted access to the edge of the caldera. (Not to worry about hauling luggage — the hotel staff cheerfully attended to that chore, and getting it to and from taxis.) We loved our stay Aigialos, and recommend it enthusiastically. "

"Super impressed with this hotel from start to finish. From arranging a driver to pick us up at the airport, to sending people to take our luggage since there is a lot of stairs it was nice to not have to carry our luggage there. The pool is heated with a swim up bar and the bar tender was great. The room was very clean and the staff was on top of keeping our room clean and fresh towels. We had the most incredible views of the caldera and our own private heated plunge pool and balcony. I cannot say enough amazing things about this hotel. Staff was 5 star and so was the room we stayed in! Thank you Athena for a wonderful experience for the start of our honeymoon! "

"Perfect location!! Within steps of everything in Fira but still very quiet and secluded. I've seen reviews about this being on the donkey path, while it is, it almost unnoticeable. Don't pass the place up because of the donkey route!! "

"Amazing view!! Maybe the best view on the entire island? Do ask for a balcony room... then you can just sit and enjoy the sunset from the comfort of your room. If you take an Uber or taxi to the hotel, they will stop a little ways away, and you will have to climb the incline to the hotel. This is about a 3 or 4 minute climb, keep this in mind for your mobility/fitness. I have some mobility issues but was able to manage just fine by taking it slow. The morning buffet breakfast had huge number of options; only gripe is that the food should be kept hot. Having cold scrambled eggs is not the best way to start the day. But hey, when you sit eating on the terrace overlooking the amazing bay, these nits fade away. Room was great and comfortable...bathroom was a bit dated but perfectly fine for a 2 day stay. Front desk people were very friendly and helpful. Special shoutout to Dmitry (hope i got the name right) -- always smiling and so helpful. Thank you for making our stay at Santorini so memorable!! For folks looking to do the hike to Oia, it starts right from this hotel!! We just strolled for about half hour down the bay side path and returned... even that was beautiful and extremely photogenic. The restaurant to the left of our room was noisy late into the night, but we shut the windows tight and that helped a lot. Overall, this hotel is a 2 thumbs up!!"

"We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Our suite had a nice outdoor hot-tub and a great view of the caldera. The property was in a great location, with plenty of dining and shopping options right outside the hotel. It was clean and well kept. The complimentary champagne and breakfast options were also enjoyable. Customer service was excellent. They organized transportation to and from the airport and since the hotel isnt directly accessible by car, they assisted with bringing our bags to the hotel which was a short 5 minute walk. Highly recommend! "

"Hotel is right in the heart of Fira. Bus to airport & other parts of town is a short walk. Shops & restaurants are all surrounding the hotel. The views from the patio at our room were amazing. And sitting outside overlooking the caldera to have breakfast was a highlight of the hotel…breathtaking views! Only negative is that the WiFi did not work in the room, we had to go to the reception area for it to work. "
