Not a hotel but a motel. There was no lobby to sit and read. The refrigerator did not work even after someone came to fix it and we had our food spoiled. One of the staff left our door open all day after cleaning. The bed was very uncomfortable. No acoustic privacy for bathroom so really o ly for single person.

Toilet was in a frosted glass box that you could see from the main room which was a bit weird. Everything else about the property was perfect. Even with the glass box toilet we would stay there again. Just make sure you are comfortable with the person you are going with.

We really liked the decor of the hotel and it was amazing how quiet it was. We couldn’t hear any street noise but we could hear guests talking as they walked by our door. Also, the lighting in the room was insufficient-it was very hard to see to pack up even with all of the available lights on and because the room was small and cluttered, there wasn’t anywhere to put stuff except on the bed.

Elegant haven in the middle of a good area for multicultural dining (try beku for ice cream and the attached wine bar) within walking distance of shopping areas etc Rooms well designed with everything you need and very quiet.

I stayed at this property 21 to 26 of March. I was charged in excess of $2,000. Staff were nice but nothing over the top. The housekeeping was terrible with each day being different from the last. The staff need to be told this and go through update of duties. Beds were made haphazardly and we were not always given milk for tea. The floor was not always vacuumed to any sort of standard. The room was very noisy being at the front of Lygon Street. The glass surrounding the toilet and shower is quite comical. Certainly married couples would not really mind but travelling couples do and I feel something should be done. All in all I found our stay extremely disappointing and would never recommend the hotel to anyone. The Lord Lygon is another matter and this restaurant was a real treat and one of the nicest restaurants on our trip. Staff there were wonderful.

Tha Zagame’s House Hotel is fabulous! The location is located near the Museum in the Carlton district. It is right the heart of some great restaurants and 15 walk to the downtown core. The rooms are wonderful in a contemporary modern style. They are well maintain, clean, and housekeeping is outstanding. Checkin and checkout was seamless. The breakfast at 1851 Coffee Kitchen is excellent and Lord Lygon restaurant is a great place for dinner and drinks to wind down your day. GOLD Stars for this property!

The staff were prompt, friendly and helpful. I was able to check in smoothly despite a 3-hour flight delay. The beds were very comfortable and a delightful welcome treat started the stay right. Even with room service in the morning, we were treated with Zagame's hospitality. Look forward to seeing you all again.

Really enjoyed my 3 nights here. Compact but very well thought out room & amenities. You can tell they put effort into the room being comfortable and practical. Loved the hair straightener, coffee machine, robes and BEAUTIFUL generous products. I would return in a heart beat but would choose a bigger room if 2 of us ( was solo). Thanks lovely safe haven!

This property was such a great place to stay. Reception very friendly with such an easy check in and check out. Room was well appointed with charging ports for your devices, large TV and radio. Great atmosphere and styling and the most comfortable king bed. Breakfast and coffee was great too. Such a fantastic location with all the amazing restuarants that Lygon Street has to offer in easy walking distance. Definatley recommend and will stay again, thank you for making our stay so pleasant.

Bad stuff I feel its a bit overpriced I was told a breakfast was included only to find out it wasn't and had to pay Noisy room - poor noise insulation from outside Door was left open following cleaning on one occasion which was unacceptable

This is a very wacky hotel, and I mean that in a good way. Clearly once a Howard Johnson or some similar motor inn (rooms open to the outside, all built around a central courtyard), at some point recently the hotel was converted with a goal of making it as painfully hip and eclectic as possible. Thus you'll get lots of idiosyncratic touches to your stay. Some are fun (in-room speakers built into Marshall amps! Sculptures of giant ants crawling up the sides of the hotel!), some are merely odd (a pencil sharpener in your room! A "Lovers' Kit" available for purchase along with the usual mini-bar items!), some don't work so great (the toilet separated from the rest of the room by textured and thus not really transparent glass, though this latter was probably designed to allow light to diffuse through the entire room from the bathroom window). Overall, though, this is a fun and fancy place to stay. It's in a great locale around many solid restaurants and shopping. And let's not forget one of the best features - easy on-site parking! Staff were all incredibly nice and helpful. Especially for a single traveler, a great option.
