In regards to your room size kindly note that through Expedia.com and our website all the characteristics of our rooms are displayed including the square metres of floor space. We are sorry to read that we did not fulfil your expectations during your stay with us and would like to take the opportunity to address the points in your feedback. Whilst Causeway Inn on The mall has a Bourke St address it is accessed via “The Causeway” Lane which runs from Bourke St to Little Collins St; there is an illuminated sign above the entrance and a directional sign at the Bourke street Mall end pointing towards it; both visible from each end of the Causeway Lane. Your feedback in relation to a smell in the alleyway outside of our hotel has been noted and taken on board. As this is a public space we are currently working closely with Melbourne City Council to ensure that this issue may be resolved as soon as possible for the benefit of all pedestrians as well as hotel guests. In relation to the lift please be assured that we have taken the feedback on board. The heritage status of the building in which the hotel is situated and the age of the lift has meant that the implementation of a modernised system is a difficult but ongoing process. We would like to digress that we take guest complaints very seriously in order to continually improve our service and guest satisfaction. Therefore, we would appreciate the opportunity to make this up to you.
