Located in an awesome spot in the city for walking and exploring, 15 Beacon Hotel is a great find for a vacation stay. It is an upscale hotel that still feels like a Bed and Breakfast. We stayed at 15 Beacon for our wedding anniversary in September 2014 and had the best experience. The special details and customer service made our trip very special.
All was very good. The bed was extremely comfortable, big, as expected in a quality North American hotel and good bed linen, with down duvet and pillows. The Skyline View Guest Room was wonderful but noise can be a problem, early morning sanitation service vehicles, even from the 16th floor, if the window is open. The room was large with plenty of space to leave two large suitcases out. The bathroom was somewhat disappointing and there was not a separate shower and the bathtub was dated - minor points but !
The hotel has a historical and wonderfully classic feel to it, and is not at all stuffy nor old in a bad way. Our room was an executive king suite and we loved it. The view wasn't the best, but it was certainly good enough! The service was great. One day we accidentally left the privacy hanger on the door and when we returned to the room around 6 that evening, of course, the bed wasn't made. We did not call anyone because it was our fault. So we left and went to dinner. When we returned a couple of hours later, the bed had been made and the trash was emptied. This was the night before we checked out. That impressed me!
We did not take advantage of the restaurant due to the pricing and also the selection of meals. I have a limited palette so we dined elsewhere. We did get a slice of the Boston Cream pie since our friends had recommended it. It was delicious.
If we went back to Boston, we would stay in the same hotel.
This hotel was in a perfect location for visiting Boston. It is right next to the subway and real close to the markets. We did a lot of site seeing and found this hotel to be right in the middle of everywhere we wanted to go.

Hotel staff was exceptional fro check-in to check-out - engaging and helpful in every respect. Room was a bit underwhelming given its cost. Location is very good with easy access to older part of the city, to the Common and Public Gardens, Beacon Hill and to shopping on Newberry and Boylston streets. All are within easy walking distance.
