Pinewood is to be avoided unless there is no other place to stay in SLT. Check-in staff is next door at the other motel, I hope they are going through a long term remodel because many of their rooms are not even in use. this place is in serious need of total overhaul. Floors are uneven, I feel the years of use. the room was relatively clean by sight but lawd knows what you can't see. I thought I'd try but Won't be back here.

The heat is gas and old.The thermostat was on 70 but it was in 60s.I questioned the heat and asked for another room.We can't give you another room she said and will call maintenance up to your room.It was only 3pm.The heat started working but stopped again.It will not 60 degrees in here.I will get another motel

I really like the room set up, but the heater was not working properly, during snow season until you put in on passed 80 degrees, the room phone was not working and check in office was in totally different building, had to walk to offcie multiple times during snow

For the price the room was very nice and clean. They didn’t have coffee maker in the room which was disappointing to my husband. All in all quiet and comfortable.

There were animals of some sort in the ceiling, whether rats or raccoons they made a lot of noise in the ceiling between the hours of 4:00 AM and 6:30 AM. There was no way to sleep through this much noise. We paid a premium price for the Saturday night, it was much more expensive than a premium room elsewhere, and also three times the price of the Sunday night rate for the same room. With the noise in the ceiling it was completely unacceptable.

I wish I could post the picture of the dirty room I was given. The rooms have no locks. Only the magnetic key lock. No real lock at all. It was literally dirty I don’t know if it was blood or really old red stained dirt on the heating unit that also did not work. Beds dirty. Shower filthy I kept my sandals on. No coffee. No towels. Nothing. No front desk attendance.

This motel was terrible, and horribly expensive. Do not stay here! The room was tiny, dirty, run-down, no air conditioning. The window was broken and looked at a wall about 3 feet away. It was ground floor, so this was a security issue. The location was very good, but next time I think I'll sleep in my car.

The only good thing about this place is the proximity to everything around the area in south Lake Tahoe but other than that, the room and hotel overall is gross. Our room was not cleaned, we found a broken samsung under the bed, crumbs on the floor, no AC, the bathroom was dirty. The hotel is definitely due for an upgrade.

Half the place was shut down. Wasn’t given the option to switch rooms, didn’t want all the way in the back. There were no extra toilet paper rolls, the tv sucked, wasn’t loud. It was too noisy, bed uncomfortable.

Budget hotel with no budget
The check in process was easy even though we had to go to the hotel next door to check in. The room smelled strongly of carpet cleaner and there was a loud oscillating fan in our room. The bed was uneven and really uncomfortable. There were three super thin pillows and we ended up folding them in half. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again.

Horrible staff at pinewood inn
At the pinewood you cnnot check in at the property you have go to the next-door hotel i thought that inconvenience because arrived 1030pm looks like they closed their offices doors closed so you have to check in outside because it's lake tahoe there a lot of wild animals that would be unsafe but the hotel staff didn't care, because i ask let me in since there was a bear but the staff said once I closed the door i don't open them then she gave me hard time for a room i already paid when told that was inconvenience she slamed the counter and said give me the keys back i don't want to rent you a room anymore remember I'm still outside with bear roaming arount their services and staff at the counter were horrible i end up staying one night i wish if i can get some of my money back that would be great just to teach then a lesson

Thanks for staying with us Mr.zolmay and sorry for inconvenience but you do get messages when you make reservation that for check in you have to go very next door to pinewood and we do not open the door after hours therefore we have night window and as far as I know that was no Bear outside .Thank you

Meh, alright for the night.
Sign at front desk to go hotel next door to check in (at the nicer hotel). This hotel was practically vacant, but we got placed an upstairs room in the back where we couldn't see our vehicle. Room was stuffy, but we got the brown window open, & then it was nice. There was a long dark hair on one of the towels in the bathroom, but we had our own. Not great but not horrible. Just not quite what I expected for the price.

I was grateful that they made an exception to their policy and allowed me to cancel when my debit card got blocked and I couldn’t travel to check-in. They also moved me rooms when I didn’t feel safe. The blow dryer had exposed wiring and literally caught on fire. The exhaust fans were broken in both rooms and the smoke detector was covered with plastic in the room that almost burnt down. At least the second room had a smoke detector.

The shower dripped constantly and the shower handle was broken. Very poor water pressure - difficult to shower. Bed sheets need to be fitted. Bunched up every night. Could have used another blanket

Close to Stateline. Welcoming at check-in. Room was a little small. Shower was 2.5ft x3 feet, so a little tight for my size. Window was missing lock, which I told staff about. I can see they are doing renovations in a lot of the rooms. No air conditioning so I can see rooms getting pretty hot during the summer. Bathroom door had to be lifted up to close/open as the clearance above tile not correct.

Not worth the money
The rooms are very old, the bathroom is tiny, the room smells and the hot water takes forever to kick in. I wouldn't recommend this facilities to anyone. The check-in was rude and careless and was made on the hotel beside the actual pinewood Inn. Weird!
