"Nukubati Island Resort is an amazing place. It is remote and there is nothing nearby like restaurants and shops. But the resort food is excellent with a 2-3 entree choices at each mean and lots of the food is grown in their own garden. There is no restaurant schedule so you can eat at any time of day. "We stayed as family with 2 teenage boys in the Grand Residence for 5 nights which was spectacular, with views across the bay and rainforest. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the cart ride down to the beach was fun. We had a great time, however were disappointed with the food - one night the fish was inedible. We were also let down by the constant power outages and delay in firing up the back up generator - we were left in the dark with no running water for hours on our first night....

"Alex and Avi were wonderful hosts, from allowing early check-in to offering trips into the Bay on their boat. I had plenty of space to read and relax in the guesthouse, with Savusavu’s main street an easy 20 minute taxi ride away (they have a driver they use who they can call on your behalf). I had free use of sea kayaks, and I paid Alex to take me on a snorkeling trip near a sand bar. I recommend booking here!"

As a couple who enjoy cooking for each other we were pleased that the kitchen was well equipped for making both kaiviti and kaivalagi style dishes. Hosts Lisa and Roy shared their knowledge of where to get local ingredients and provided us coconuts (complete with grater) and fresh herbs from their beautiful tropical garden!
