"Home away from home"
I love the Mauna Kea! No place like it in the world. It is so understated and not flashy. Just lovely old style Hawaii. Don't ever change too much MK because what makes you special is your tradition. Thank you! We will be back year after year because you make us relaxed and happy. Mahalo!

My wife and I stayed at the Hapuna Prince Resort for 13 days and enjoyed every minute of it. What a beautiful resort and surronding areas. The only downfall about the resort was the amount of restaurants to choose from. Being that your are 30 minutes outside of the bid city, Kona, there are not a lot of options for food nearby. 20 min drive to Weimea which is worth the drive at least once a day for some good local food or 5 minute drive to the harbor for some more expensive restaurants. Can't forget to get your Hawiaan Shaved Ice from the Orginal Shaved Ice Company (Truck parked next to the Blue Dragon).

Pocket Guide: Hawaii Kohala Coast - Waikoloa Prince Hotels

Luxury resorts, sprawling golf courses, and white sands line the Kohala Coast – Waikoloa. Hawaii’s sunniest coast is a must-go for beachgoers. It is also known as the cradle to King Kamehameha, Hawaii’s greatest king. His influence can be seen at the nearby Pu’ukohola Heiau National Historic Site, where visitors can see the temple of war he built before unifying the Hawaiian Islands.
