Lovely young lady at the front desk ( from Kanata ) - she was excellent. We book on Expedia months in advance and selected the option to pay later at the hotel . We had a few hour drive and during that time I missed a call from them . They left a message stating that they couldn’t get my credit card to work that I put on Expedia ( it was a Visa Debit which was the reason) and they were trying to charge me for my first full night because they were sold out and if I didn’t call back by check in they would cancel my room . I was lucky that we stopped long enough to hear the message and was able to call but imagine getting there and they gave your room away because they couldn’t get a hold of you and you couldn’t be there by check in ? I also don’t like that they were charging it without permission… a phone call asking would have been courteous but if the option is to pay at the hotel ( whether it be on your arrival or whatever) then that’s how it should be, not threatening to give the room away on a phone call while you are travelling to your destination . Hotel was a good location, close to the rink and clean .
