"This was a lovely nature getaway. The drive was easy from Houston and there was plenty for the kids to do - from games availabile inside, to exploring the pond and the nearby forest. "I cant say enough AMAZING things about this property and the owners! The house is immaculate and very large, the outside areas are great for relaxing and hearing the the sounds of the lake. The location is unbeatable a very private lodge surrounded by nature. Beautiful birds visited each morning and we were even greeted by an armadillo one afternoon. "We had a great time staying in The Mansion. It was interesting to look at the various documents displayed throughout the home. It's a bit out of town, but that is what makes it charming. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of linens. We cooked all meals and found the kitchen was supplies with everything we needed. Unfortunately it rained very hard the entire weekend we were there which made it impossible to explore the grounds. We would definitely come back."
