Amazingly close to everything worth doing. Really helpful staff, rooms in great condition, the views are absolutely breathtaking. Would deffinately recommend!

Great location, close to local department stores and food places. Opposite hotel is the subway which connects you to the rest of shanghai. Definately a great hotel for the price

So much of China operates on a massive scale; this (relatively) small hotel offered a welcome oasis. The elegant rooms were thoughtfully equipped; staff was warm and tried hard to help us even if they didn't immediately know the answers to our questions. The a la carte breakfast menu was terrific; the continental buffet also offered a ton of great choices, even if one forgoes the more expensive hot options. I also enjoyed a fabulous Thai foot massage in the hotel spa. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

A beautiful, clean hotel in a fantastic location, right on People's Park and across the road from a subway entrance. A one minute walk to Huanghe Road, one of Shanghai's prime food streets. Very comfortable beds, which was a nice change from the typically very hard beds we found in our accommodation in other parts of China. The hotel staff were also incredibly helpful, going out of their way to provide assistance. I would highly recommend this hotel.

What an awesome stay. The staff were excellent, from check in to check out we were treated like royalty. Every request and suggestion was provided with a high level of professional. the team really made us feel welcome. We had a room on the 30th floor overlooking the Bund and the Shanghai lights. The room was super comfy, clean and was well above our expectations. I highly recommend the hotel to anyone.

The location was even better than I expected. SOOO convenient for everything. The check-in experience including the luggage service were better than those at the next hotel we stayed in which was an international 5-star hotel. No kidding! The maintenance crew was very friendly and helpful. Free internet, etc.. I have only good things to say about this hotel. I'm glad after searching through several sites we picked this one. We had 3 rooms for a whole week! HIGHLY recommended! You will enjoy it too!

Awesome experience, we are definitely returning to Shanghai next year, & there are no guesses which hotel we are going to make reservations with, Greencourt Apartments off course. People are friendly & helpful, though they might have been a language barrier. Wow, wow wow!

The Howard Johnson Plaza is a wonderful. Centrally located, it is easy to taxi or walk (if you enjoy walking as I do) anywhere. Rooms are incredibly comfortable, the business center is excellent (but can only make B/W copies), excellent desk staff, helpful concierge... overall just as good as the Four Seasons.
