"We stayed at this wonderful hotel for a couple of days. It is situated very close to the city center. The staff were quite nice and accommodating (not everyone spoke English but this was not a problem). A delicious breakfast was provided and there is offsite parking available. Do note that there is no elevator. Overall, we loved our stay in this charming hotel."

"This was our 3rd visit to Torfhaus Resort Hotel. It is our favorite. The location in the Harz Mountains is serene, but also full of possibilities for hiking, biking, and quick travel to picturesque towns. The houses/cabins at the resort are maintained in excellent condition. There is plenty of room for a family. We enjoy sitting on the deck with a meal and looking at the beautiful views of the forest. "Really great spa and pool, room, and food. Some important details: no spa admission after 8 pm, it reopens at 10 in the morning. Restaurant kitchen closes after 8 pm too, but they still serve drinks and charcuterie. Some staff spoke English and it was helpful because the receptionist did not. Also the credit card machine at the reception wouldn't process Hotels.com charges in dollars (but the restaurant's card reader can do it)"

"I travelled in September, nights can be cold; this was the only HEATED room I encountered! The room was simple, with only a curtain to separate off the bathroom, but the bed was quite comfortable. I had trouble getting to Bad Grund becausr I don't have a navigation system. Once there, parking beside the pension is free. The surroundings are very quiet."
