Thank you Caz for giving us your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at the Dene Guest House. We would have appreciated that you had talked to us about your pillow issue while you were still on the property, we would have proposed you a softer one straight away and you would have enjoyed a bit more comfort. As for the shared facilites, the description of the rooms are very clear on Expedia as the shared bathroom is mentioned both in the name and the description of the room. Thank you for mentioning the breakfast, this is something we are working really hard. :)

Hi there, Thank you for the good review. Our buses do come more frequently though, every 5-10 mins, even on Sundays and a single ticket to the Royal Mile is £1.70 (day ticket with unlimited buses until midnight is £4) With regards to our shared bathrooms, we have noticed that they are only used between 7-8 am, and remain un-used after those times. We have updated the signage to highlight that they can also be used after breakfast and in the evening. I am glad to see that staff and breakfast was great, we have put a lot of effort in to offer more fresh fruit, home made pancakes . Kind regards, Dene Reception

Dear Kevin, Thank you for taking the time to give feedback, this is very helpful. We are glad yo enjoyed your stay with us at the Dene Guest House. As you have mentioned, we are located down Dundas street but we are blessed with great bus service with 4 lines (8, 23, 27 and 36) stopping very close to the guest house. So even if you are not really fond of walking you will always find a way to reach the close-by historic city-center. :)

We did invest into a proper reservations system that reconfirms reservations to guests with the applied deposits and our arrival time reminder with directions help everyone to find the way to us. Many properties do not send anything to the guest or simply spam you with promotions. Due to the building we are not able to convert all our rooms with ensuites, and if we tried they would be the size of a stamp. Rooms with shared facilities have this mentioned in the room title such as "double with shared bathroom" so that there are no misunderstandings.
