Hotels often look much better in the photographs. 5 stars are not really five stars, but this hotel was a pleasant surprise. The two bed apartment we were booked in which overlooked the sea was beautiful. Equipped really well (although the kitchen unit was a little basic). There is free wifi throughout the hotel which is great and should be standard across all hotels I feel. The beds were firm and comfortable. Toiletries were posh and smelled great. Everything looked of high quality but the best thing was the view. Seriously, pay extra and get the sea view. It's breathtaking. Note that dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid etc aren't provided but you can buy a small pack for about £15-£20. Bit pricey.
The pools were great but half of them were closed due to it being off season. In fact a lot of the hotel was closed. However, it didn't bother me too much as we got such a good deal. I can imagine it's twice the price in the peak season but also very busy.
I was apprehensive travelling on my own with 2 young children but I did not need to worry!! The hotel was fabulous and perfect for myself and my wee ones. The kids' club made the holiday though for us - Valentina and Ivan are incredible with kids (and adults) and whilst you could leave your kids I chose to stay and had as much fun as the kids.
Welcomed by friendly staff, food plentiful, drinks varied, location spectacular.....swimming pool far too cold at this time of year even for me ( swimming teacher) but the sea was fantastic for swimming. Great homely hotel..... The 4 star next door is lovely too but much more corporate and business feel to it.... Club valamar is much better for families. Great holiday, great choice many thanks x stayed in room 5001 and 5002 spectacular views
"The beach is right next to the pool - brilliant!"
Great holiday - very relaxing.
Very infuriating with the foreigners 'RESERVING' the sun loungers very early doors with their towels though! The hotel is very child and family orientated. A range of sports on offer with the entertainers.

The location is remote from Dubrovnik but that is what we wanted at the end of a three week holiday. The pool is awesome and the breakfast was great except for the coffe from a vending machine. The staff were great but watch out for the local Casinovas that lurk around the pool playing Costa from Shirley Valentine. Not an honest bunch and their motives are predictable. Lots of French families and pop music by the pool if that is your thing. I preferred the evening they had a live local trio.

This hotel is modern and bright and in a great location. Near the sea, beautiful walks and only 10 mins bus journey to the Old City. The room we had was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Good quality bedding and towels were changed daily. The staff were professional, helpful and very pleasant. The food in the restaurant was excellent - varied and good quality. As we stayed at the end of the season, the hotel was quiet. We paid extra for a balcony and we had an amazing view of the sea. All in all, we could not fault the hotel.
