Hotel Petka is a great place to stay for Dubrovnik. Its right by the harbour where all the boats leave and has a nice supermarket at the harbour and some good restaurants/bakeries/cafes around it. You can catch any of 3 buses to the old town and be there in 10 minutes! OR walking is anywhere between 30-45mins. My room was good and had lots of watch on the tv and good A/C. Breakfast was a good selection and they brought out fresh things often.

This was a nice place, close to he beach, with many of the usual amenities of a good hotel. It is removed from the old town but close to the bus line, so not inconvenenient. It's remoteness from traffic made it rather peaceful.
What stands out to me was the most excellent complementary breakfast that we had. Good, brewed coffee- not Nescafe. A wide selection of fresh fruit. Fresh pastry. What a treat!
Just the power pill we needed to start our day and get rolling.
Hotel is very close and convenient to old town. Room was spacious with 2 double beds and a rollaway bed for the 3rd person (rollaway was a little small). We did the beach trip through the hotel and received great service. They arranged a taxi to the beach and a boat to come get us. Our chairs and umbrellas were already set up for us at the beach and we were greeted with a delicious fruit juice all compliments of the hotel.

Lovely hotel and spa. Nice outdoor seating and access to swimming in the sea. Old town hotels can't offer that. 800yds to walls of old town. Hotel has nice beach restaurant and excellent food. Good breakfast too.

We only stayed 2 nights, but would happily have stayed more, and would definitely go back. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and particularly helpful. The breakfast was very good. Lots of variety with fresh fruit and egg and omelette stations, warm breads and pancakes etc which set us up for the day.
the hotel and staff were great its not the most personal type of hotel so if you like that best not for you. most things have been said already its a quaint quiet place cavtat not a lot of nightlife. i feel the hotel has a lot of wasted space that they could utilize more and have a bit more evening entertainment piano man for couple of nights fine but not every night without any other option, with the 126 steps you dont want to be going in and out of town. there was a local wedding on when we stayed and it sounded great think most of the guests wanted to join in so think room for improvement on the evening entertainment as plenty of room and space for it not to be a bother to other hotel guests that want a quiet night.
The promoting to the old town is an excellent bonus. Even in the midday heat in August the walk didn't seem like such a tour. Also the views of the town and the old harbour are breath taking. One could sit by the pool, in the gardens, in the bar or by the restaurant and look at the old town for hours. The pool area is great because it allows access to the sea in a safe and easy way but for people who are less confident there is the pool to dip in.
The breakfast selection was good and English tea was served as well. Initially we had a room on the front on the seventh floor but at 4am the garbage truck arrives and unfortunately I'm not great at going back to sleep. However after three nights we asked if there where any other rooms available (we didn't expect an upgrade to a sea view) and with no questions asked we were relocated to the back of the hotel by the side which was much better. I would urge light sleepers to consider a sea view room for this reason however they dealt with our discomfort in a professional and high quality way. Service was good and staff really helpful and polite with excellent language skills. Some reviews criticise this but in my experience this is probably unfair or an isolated incident. Our rooms, not the most expensive, were well appointed, clean and very comfortable. The location and the grounds are stunning. Bobbing in the sea off the pool area looking up at the grounds, across to Lockrum Island and to the old town will be a treasured memory.
