"Our rooms were not ready when we arrived so we had a beer in the bar. We were tired from hiking and there was no where to stretch out and relax. Room was pretty clean, but it looked like the carpet wasn't vacuumed too well, but was okay."

"Had a lovely relaxing couple of days at McDonalds Forest Hill Hotel. Hotel is situated on an incline with absolutely stunning views. Staff very friendly and helpful. Had Room 208 which was excellent, lovely large room and good sized ensuite which was very clean and tidy. "Brilliant idea letting out students rooms at the summer break, beautiful settings and loads of amenities locally. The “Scran”restaurant brilliant,tasty food and great staff and prices. There is a shop and a chemist on grounds. Scenery beautiful.rooms basic and comfortable.communal area for making lunch,tea etc My only criticism would be maybe too basic rooms,no hand towels or anywhere to put your shampoo etc in shower.
