"The property is obviously older and just recently taken over by new owners who are putting in the work to bring it up to a standard. They were pleasant and accommodating and had the property clean and nice, albeit dated. On Expedia, however, it is listed as a VRBO where you get the “whole house” which includes “Bedroom 1” and “Bedroom 2”. The hotel was 45 minutes out of the way for me on a 3-day trip, but I did the driving so I could better accommodate my wife and children, but it ended up being just a regular dated (but clean) hotel room. I resented the 45 minute drive out to Scipio because of the inaccurate listing. If you need to be in Scipio or nearby, its just fine an a decent value, but you won’t be getting 2 bedrooms."

"The adjacent restaurant was really good. We had Mexican food for dinner. Next morning, several breakfast options are complimentary for hotel guests. I had fried eggs, sausage and toast. The sausage was especially good."

"Very cozy, but comfortable place. We did not stay at a time where we could take advatage of the lake, but it looked like a lot of fun. It worked extremely well for our planned trilobite dig. Two recommendations: 1.The kitchen needs a sponge - scrubber to wash the pots and pans. 2. The twin beds upstairs are not for adults; they are junior beds. Need to put that in the description."

"High price but considering 5000 employees at near by power plant being built, it might have been a bargain !! Nice staff. Clean comfy room. "

"This was the perfect spot to gather our family of 15 who came from 4 different states. We ranged in age from 5 to 78 and there was always something for everyone - a nice pool, hot tub, pool table, Foosball, large kitchen with plenty of cooking supplies and plenty of bedrooms and triple bunk beds that the kids enjoyed!"
