"We stayed for two nights to attend a local race. The front desk clerk, who was very nice, changed our room to a 2nd floor corner room, which he said was one of the finest he had. The room was huge, but sparsely furnished. "The house was even better than anticipated! The owners thought of everything one might need when staying with a group. We cooked, grilled, swam, fished, canoed, kayaked, slept in the hammock, gathered around the firepit -- and had a fantastic experience. The location is picturesque on the shores of Lay Lake. The owner was quick to respond to our questions and incredibly accommodating. We can't stop talking about our time there and hope to go back again next year!"

"This house was an amazing jewel to stay at! Fantastic location off the lake and close to Alabaster with an easy commute. Our group loved sitting by the fire each night and the amount of seating is perfect for a large group. We had a maintenance issue during our stay and the housekeeper came out immediately to assist. "The place was easily accessible from the highway. It has needed shopping/pharmacy/gas/dining options within 0.5 mile range. All the staff was courteous from the beginning till our check-out. The rooms and bathrooms were neat and simple. The breakfast menu items like the eggs and pancakes could be better. Additionally, the ice-dispenser, the washer-dryer machines as well as the soda vending machines could be placed in a better surrounding such as a dedicated corner or room. For the price that was paid, this place met our needs well. I will recommend this place for my one who wants a quick, not-too-fancy, simple stay-over. "
