"Very clean and beautiful structure. The pictures on the site make you think you will have a river view and maybe even be able to walk out to the river. That is not real. It’s a short hike or a drive to the river. Not a huge deal but we were a bit surprised. The fireplace smokes up the entire home. We turned off the the heat and it still did it. Fireplace is beautiful and heated the room but smoke was everywhere!!! Other than that, I would stay there again!"

The pictures made it seem like we could access the river but was not the case. Other than that the property was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. "It was a wonderful getaway, the house is beautiful and so spacious. The location is wonderful and we really enjoyed our time. The house shows a bit of wear and tear from previous renters, but I will definitely be staying again. The caretakers were communicative and made themselves available for us while we were there. "The cabins are pretty sparse, but they have everything you need. Property Management was very friendly and responsive in person and over Vrbo IM. This place kind of reminds me of when you went to camp in 5th grade, or on a vacation with your parents and you can just walk around and see a bunch of other families hanging out and stuff. They have the game room and mini golf and the river and lots of activities. Good experience."

"We enjoyed our stay. The outside area wasn’t cleaned prior to us arriving so there was a lot of debris all over the decks, tables ,chairs and in the pool. There are alot of trees so it’s a given that debri is expected. Over all we had a great vacation and it was so quiet and peaceful. Colleen was very responsive and helpful when I need to contact her."

"I liked the quiet neighborhood. Parking was a little tight and had to back out of a fairly steep driveway onto the main road, but there was little traffic so not too bad. Beds were comfortable. My biggest concern was finding hairs and a small piece of a soap bar on the upstairs shower floor. The shower was obviously not cleaned properly, if at all. That was gross!"

"We had a wonderful stay at Strawhouse Resort. The property is beautiful, with the cafe and patio along the river. Good pizza and coffee roasted on site. Amazing hospitality from Don, Julia and all the Strawhouse team. We stayed in the yurt. What a fun experience. It was cozy and well appointed. This area along the Trinity River is so beautiful. "

The only issue we had is that this cabin is under construction it seems, there was no usable closet space because of this. I would still recommend it though."
