Suncliff hotel
Moved to Suncliff Hotel due to large party booking (wedding?)at Mayfair Hotel, so review is for Suncliff. Decor looking tired in places. 4th floor accommodation: bed very stiff and not comfortable. One roller blind was down halfway on arrival with broken/rusty chain laying on window sill, so unable to limit sunshine beaming through window at 06:30 in the morning. Stains on carpet around lounge area. Unable to give review to reception desk on checking out as understaffed and felt rushed through due to busy period (10:30).

Don't stay here
Hotel is tired and dated. Lift is not fit for purpose. Too many additional stairs and small corridors to negotiate. Paid 12.00 per night to park in carpark but still forced to park on grass verge as no room left. Bathroom dirty with hairs in bath, bedroom not much better

Disappointed but had a good night sleep
I was in room 6 and had meant to mention that the TV shelf looked like it had sweet and sour sauce splattered on it. The bath suite was a beige/green looking set - the shower was, however quite powerful and at a lovely temperature. The whole place looked like there had been attempts to update it (ground floor toilets and the bar area for example) but the furniture in the lounge and dining area were very dated. The night manager (at least he was on the desk) looked like he hadn’t washed his uniform, and had a mess on his trousers - this could have been due to something he did before we got there though. The lovely smiley lady on days, with brown hair and glasses was not only professional, but warm and friendly - a definite asset to your team. Overall the hotel is tired, the staff are all further on in their years and the feel was very old fashioned.

The hotel was so noisy. The flooring creaked and so did the beds. You could hear everything someone did in the next bedroom. Staff were ignorant when you walked past them

Stay was ok service very good . Relaxed surroundings . Fire alarm went off staff managed really well with register etc . Prompt in getting people back in . Rooms could do with a little updating but linen clean . All in all comfortable and relaxed stay .

The hotel was very outdated. And cleanliness was poor. We found a cleaning rag left in our bathroom on top of the clean towels left for us and hair left on the edge of of the bath. The bed was very uncomfortable and dipped on the right side.

I thought the overall experience was fairly average. It reminded me of the hotel used in Faulty Towers. Basic and old fashion decor. The bathroom was its biggest let down. Everything cramped into a small space with a strange musky smell. I didn’t fancy taking my chances using the shower. I couldn’t breakfast the night before as I checked in last that night but felt I was putting the staff out that morning when polity requested a table 1. Price & location you couldn’t fault, however I’d pay more for something slight more modern.

Great location but very old and in bad condition
The hotel has a great location but is very old and in a really bad condition, the very small lift only works to the second floor and from there you are on your own (!!) The floor in the bathroom was making terrible noise and felt like about to collapse any mintue. Would skip it next time.

Had to pay for parking which was unclear when booking. Was under the impression parking was free with booking so would have parked elsewhere if I knew. Bath ran soo slow unable to have a decent bath. The bath was one of the reason I chose this hotel.

Do not stay here
No fridge in the room which is the first time I have ever experienced this and reception staff were very unfriendly and extremely unhelpful especially when I told them we had no cold water in our shower. The lift was the smallest I have ever been in and there was dirty linen in bags littered all over the floors but not the cleaners fault as the corridors are tiny. In fact the cleaning staff were the only friendly people in the hotel. The hotel is outdated and needs an upgrade as most items are broken or just old and dreadful colour scheme.

The hotel wasn't very clean, cobwebs in our room & bathroom. Hand rail in bathroom coming away from the wall, brown marks on the towels. Bed uncomfortable and noisey. Pillows very flat and uncomfortable. Did not have a very good sleep because of this.

Loud, uncomfortable and dirty
This hotel was soo loud as we were placed above a walkway within the hotel, so had continually disruptions through the night. It was impossible to sleep as a result and the hotel made it clear there was no efforts to move the room or indeed put things right after the fact, despite efforts to contact them. Whilst the distance to the town and beach are good, there is little else going for this. The hotel room was really worn, with stains in the ceiling, and fire doors that have to be jammed shut rather than closing normally. We were just looking for a basic nights accomodation, but this really was sub standard. Other patrons were clearly unhappy too. Certainly would not recommend this hotel at all.

do not stay here.
Possibly the worst hotel I’ve stayed in for years at check in was told we had to pay £8 a night to park which it never said on the booking then when we received our keys had to walk up the most creakiest poorly decorated holes in the walls and ceilings staircase to our room. The room was not what it looks like in the pictures online very poorly decorated it didn’t look clean and the floor was covered in hairs I went down to the reception and complained we was then given the only room available in the hotel which was through the restaurant which had people eating in it next to the fire escape at the back of the hotel the room was ok but had a smell of damp the beds were very uncomfortable and the bathroom had been built into a cupboard and you can hear every movement from the people upstairs. We had to stay here as we was working away and all the other hotels were fully booked. I will not book this hotel again and recommend no one stays here until they fully refurbish this hotel.

In desperate need of an overhaul
Nothing's been updated for decades. Fire doors were shut despite Covid, meaning everyone was handling the same door knobs. Beds uncomfortable, room exceedingly hot so had to keep window open (which didn't help that much), but there was a very loud machinery noise outside all night. Worst of all, toilet flush was broken, we had to stick our hand into the tank each time. I'd read this in a previous review and assumed it was a one-off, but it happened to us too! I don't think I've ever written a negative review like this before, but we were so disappointed.

Filthy hotel avoid!!
We booked 3 twin bed rooms for one night, anticipating that it would be warm we requested fans in each room. I have a toddler so I was nervous. I called on the morning of our arrival to follow this up. I was reassured that x3 fans will be available. I got to my room which was filthy, clearly not been hoovered. We found a collection of shells and sand under the bed and tissue deposit on the shower enclosure (eew!). The hotel Manager and Deputy were off sick, a staff member did kindly source two mini fans for us but they were weak so everyone struggled to sleep.
