9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (373)
"Exceptional service and generally superb attitude, friendliness and care. Always available staff. Great character and design. Slight issue with room 3 being facing road and bright light of signage into window. The sound was loud with window open but that was our preference for fresh air. Wouldn’t be issue if you’re happy to not. Breakfast was lovely and has all you need hot or cold. Great location."

Slightly quirky room with the bathroom open and behind the bed, but great size and decor. Only downside was having no tea/coffee facilities in the room as they are available on the landing."

"We spent three nights at the Best Western Grand Hotel Francais and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful (other than one somewhat minor issue) and the hotel itself was outstanding. The room was not large, but it was very comfortable. The property is in a great location right in the heart of downtown Bordeaux and easy to walk to almost all of the attractions. What is a historic hotel like in Bordeaux?
Historic hotels give guests a chance to stay in a building officially recognised with a historic designation. Historic hotels throughout the world have had many former lives and uses, such as castles, stately homes, palaces or even pubs, lodges, old police stations or skyscrapers — any place of special interest. The two are similar. The term “historic hotel” is more common in the U.S., whereas “heritage hotel” is common in Asia and Europe.
