Hotel room was HUGE for a European room. Had separate toilet room vs. shower, which was convenient for 3 adults staying in the room. Had separate sleeper-sofa for our daughter, and even with that open, there was a lot of room. Had small balcony to inner courtyard which was nice. Easy 5 minute walk to Checkpoint Charlie, and access to Metro, etc.
Broadly I thought this was pretty good. In terms of location , Berlin is a big city so it depends where you want to go but this is pretty close to checkpoint Charlie (obviously as per the name!) , Brandenburg gate and has good transport links.
My room was tidy and well maintained including the bathroom.
My only slight gripe was I ended up needing to pay for breakfast and I thought that was overpriced and the cooked element wasn't particularly warm.
Cozy hotel. Staff is very helpful and professional. Room is quiet good for three adults. Breakfast is very good. Ample choice of food. Even gluten free bread is available. One of us had an early flight and they provided breakfast to go for him. All this plus 450 meters to nearest metro.
Location was convenient for getting to the places we wanted to visit. The room was large, but poorly lit. The toilet was separate from the shower except they were not next to each other. The toilet was next to the door to the room. To go to the shower and large sink required taking about 20 steps in a U-shape. Very odd room configuration.
Spacious room, good beakfast, good amenities. Very good overall. The area is convenient to get around by U-bahn. Only downside: not a ton of restaurants right nearby, have to walk a bit (but only about 10 min).
We had a wonderful stay at the Mercure during the Berlin Marathon week. The location was perfect - nearby to subway stations, restaurants, grocery store, and the race. We found the room to be very spacious and loved our little terrace. The cleaning staff was very understanding to our difficulty with the time zone. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Property was not as nice as the Mercore Hotel in Munich. Breakfast was good, but our room air conditioning did not work. And it got warm during the day and would not cool off at night. Not ever fixed despite our complaints. Luckily the windows opened!! Location was good. Friendly personnel
The check in and check out staff were professional and friendly, the people operating the bar, lounge area were not. We rented 4 rooms and they were all very spacious and nice, one room had a really funky smell like old food hidden somewhere. We left the windows open to air out but it never really left, hope they fixed that. walking distance to a few sights with shops and restaurants all around. Pretty good spot for the price.
We had a nice stay with comfortable beds (one of which was a sofa bed). Upon check in we were given a free bottle of water in our room along with six free drinks at the front desk & two snacks. The hotel was conveniently located to Check Point Charlie but with other sites we walked about 30 minutes as we did not use the metro/subway/tram. The front desk staff were very friendly. I can't think of anything negative about the staff or hotel.
This comfortable and clean hotel is in a great area for exploring Berlin. The hotel has very good amenities - a very filling breakfast to start the day and a bar with a nice terrace to finish it. Housekeeping was very diligent and the staff helpful.
Although there is air conditioning, the power only was on when your room access card was in the slot in the room. On warm days, it was quite warm when you first returned to the room.
