The Berystede is a magnificent looking hotel, I was greeted by the reception staff with a warm welcome and check in was easy.
The room was a good size but for the amount paid it looked a bit sad in places. There were big chunks of paint missing off of the radiator, the bathroom ceiling had brown marks on it, there were areas on the side of the bath that hadn't been cleaned. Plug sockets were placed in odd areas of the room and nowhere near nightstands for charging phones/devices.
The spa itself is lovely, lots of different rooms in the thermal suite. The showers in the suite look like they need a bit of work because not all the buttons seemed to work properly.
Dinner in the restaurant was excellent, the food was delicious and the service was good.
Checkout was easy.
I'd stay again, but I hope the room wouldn't look so tired next time because I felt a bit let down. This wasn't a cheap 2 night stay, it was meant to be something special and it was expensive.
