"Beautiful grand hotel, amazing hall, high ceilings, great value for money, it is really worth paying a little extra for the classic rooms to experience this grand building (the cosy rooms on the top floor are fine but small, low ceiling and not particularly good value for money). "Hotel room was clean, modern, had a true king size bed, and the private bathroom shower was truly relaxing! The hotel restaurant serves fantastic food. However, the bar only served Bud draft and a Thai draft beer. I was at the VERY LEAST expecting to be served with a local Scottish beer — huge bummer! The Mercure Hotel is located in the middle town, a one minute walk to Victoria Market— huge plus!"
