Spanning an explored area of 100,000 square metres with a vertical height of 140 metres, the cave is a complex, multi-level maze. Your adventure will take you through four distinct layers, featuring a reservoir, rivers, waterfalls, grand halls, and countless stunning formations.
Enter the cave's most magnificent chamber, the Dragon Palace. Covering a vast area, over 2,000 stalagmites rise from the ground in incredible shapes and colours, resembling everything from animals and treasures to giant cedars. Here, you'll find the legendary “Dragon King's Throne,” a massive formation considered the centrepiece of this underground realm.
Glide along the 2,800-meter-long Xiangshui River on an included boat ride. The water maintains a cool temperature of around 15°C (59°F) year-round. Watch for the rare, nearly transparent “glass fish” and, if you're lucky, the protected Chinese giant salamander (Andrias davidianus) that inhabits these tranquil waters.
Marvel at the cave's most famous icon, the Unique Pillar. This slender stalagmite soars 19.2 metres high but is only about 10 centimetres wide at its narrowest point. A true natural wonder, it has been growing for an estimated 200,000 years and continues to do so. Its immense value is underscored by a special 100 million RMB insurance policy taken out for its protection.
Before or after your cave tour, enjoy the expansive Ecological Plaza at the entrance. This award-winning, park-like area features cultural elements like a music hall, traditional waterwheels, and peaceful pathways, beautifully blending the natural and human landscapes.
