Overview

  • The tour will let the travellers learn how traditional Swahili dishes are prepared using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and traditional cooking techniques passed down through generations.

The experience provides an opportunity to discover the stories, flavours, spices, and cultural traditions behind Zanzibar’s cuisine while preparing the food together with a local host.

Rather than being a formal cooking lesson, this is a personal and interactive cultural experience. Guests are encouraged to participate, ask questions, prepare the dishes themselves, and enjoy the meal they have created.

The experience offers a genuine connection with local culture, allowing travellers to experience Zanzibar beyond its beaches and tourist attractions.

By the end of the class, guests will have learned new cooking skills, discovered the cultural meaning behind Swahili food, and shared a freshly prepared traditional meal in a welcoming local environment.
