Begin your adventure at the Jozani Forest, where you can get up close with the friendly red colobus monkeys in their natural habitat. These rare and attractive creatures offer a unique interaction that’s both memorable and respectful of their environment.
Next, head to Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover its urban fabric and townscape, which have remained virtually intact. Admire the fine buildings that reflect a blend of African, Arab, Indian, and European cultures over more than a millennium.
After walking in Stone Town, take a 20-minute boat ride to Prison Island. Learn about the prison, built in 1893, which was originally intended to house violent prisoners from the mainland and sick people. Visit the tortoise sanctuary, home to a large colony of giant tortoises imported from the Seychelles in the late 19th century.
End of the tour.
